I'll give it to you that this is very subjective and that animating something with the style found in the LN art would be expensive. But I still prefer the original designs because they are objectively superior in quality and detail.

All I'm saying is that they chose to cram 3 entire volumes in 12 episodes for the sake of showing us Mary, the crazy bitch that will nearly kill Tanya. And by doing this they have to either skip or change a bunch of stuff, like what the other officers beside Rerugen think about Tanya, what each is thinking during an important conversation about Tanya and the war and how this eventually leads to poor Tanya's demise.
And on top of that they decided to change small elements of the story entirely, like the weapons, uniforms and even Tanya's own behavior.

Part of the appeal of this show is to see Tanya try her hardest only to get screwed later isn't it? Well, apparently that's not what they're aiming for since they gutted a ton of moments of this kind.

I can't get into this show because guns + magic makes zero sense. Maybe if it was a real army or a magic army of wizards completely, but putting them together just doesn't feel right. Feels like it's halfway between a modern shooter and a medieval magic show. Also Tanya is a very bad person, I find myself continuously rooting for the antagonists.

Not really, i enjoy the anime and i a read the LN and the Manga.

Its compressed no doubt but considering the 12 episode its no wonder.
As anime and as a promotion to the LN they will try to end it on a high note. I dont know if its goes into Vol3 but atleast it will finish Vol2.

Because for Tanya to meet Mary they would need to go as deep as Vol 4 for that to happen.

The only episode i was salty about was EP1.Otherwise they get the gist of the story right.Its the same problem what Overlord had.That you miss most of the internal struggle of the character in situations.

And lawfull Evil/Neutral Evil characters are all about their internal thoughts and contradicting actions. In that regard the Anime did a rather good job in showing that.
