Had a chance to read the two chapters of Volume 15, Muku is easily at the top because she actually had a nice traditional date while we've been lacking in those for a while.

Still have to wait for the rest of the volume and how she acts out of it to give ultimate judgments so Yuzuru is still my favorite.

As far as Miku goes, I think her little moment in Volume 12 was cute.

The main similarity is lelouch and char. They have similar motivations and origins. Lelouch is a char clone.
The entire Britannia family is a copy of the Zabi family (old and stern father, older son who is a psychopathic mastermind, another dumber yet kinder son, a cruel and devious daughter and a prettyboy who did nothing to the hero, but gets killed first anyway. Also there is a younger daughter who is used for political gain.). The conflict is also the same. A idealistic and dense boy pilots a white robot, and with the help of some reasonable friends, fights on the side of the evil goverment (IIRC Suzaku and Euphy are exact copies of SEED characters). While being opposed by the rebels who want freedom, but use any means necessary to get it. Then there is the ragnarock, which is just Eva's Instrumentity, but with a different name. And then there are the minor details like a super good red mecha that is the rival of the white one. A lot of stuff similar to LOGH (which slowly fade away as the show gets stupider) and many other design choices lifted from other gundam entries.

At the worst case, it is directly ripping off gundam and eva, and at the best cases, it is just lazy and unoriginal.

Yes there is a difference. For fantasy different rules apply. Magic for example is not real but why should that bother me? The problem with mecha anime are that mechas are just inherently a retarded way to fight. It does not necessarily make the anime bad but it absolutely does not make it better.

Fantasy is like a world setting and mechas in this context are like a way of fighting, so different kinds of genres. An other kind of fighting I dislike is shonen style power level showoff. Just like mecha they usually simply are not good. Does not mean the entire anime is bad, when everything else such as character and plot are great it still is a good anime.
