I was enjoying ACES as a kind of revenge story for Deluge. You know the "...They made me... and now they can't control me!" loose cannon sort of thing. I genuinely like that stuff. The part where Snow White's group is pursued by Hammer's Shufflin. I don't really like fights at all because those require choreographing and with just text, I tend to find it a bit hard to visualise and I find reading about a fight comes off as try-hard. I feel belittled. What I really like is actually the build-up to fights. The setting, the characters' abilities, etc. That tickles my mind a lot. In this case, Hammer's ability combined with the Shufflin had me on the edge of my seat. The individuality of the Shufflin without a Joker hasn't really been too deeply explored in my eyes though. Individuality means self-awareness. Self-awareness means empathy. I've yet to see the Shufflin express any kind of compassion.

I'm still a bit confused by Ripple's victory against Mi though. She threw her sword into the air? But her magic's range is only 3m, right? Or did she just throw it really high up and when it came back down, her magic was once again able to affect it?

Overall, I'm finding the story's direction very interesting. It seems Lapis somehow predicted that Blue Bell would assist Deluge in the creation of her army. SW and SG know Pfle's plan while Pfle herself doesn't. What's wrong with Dark Cutie being SW's villain in Pythie's eyes?

Also, I just want to say that I'm very disappointed with how little anything is said about the original Lapis. I thought she had more of a presence than this. I mean, it was stated somewhere that Lapis was a Cranberry sympathiser (that's why Lapis 2 got dragged into Keek's game) and yet, nothing I've read so far has discussed Lapis' opinion of Cranberry. Other than the first half of Queens and episode Phi, I've basically read all of the available material, haven't I?
