I think that's the problem with most of Zero. Lots of stuff wasn't explored as thouroughly as it should have been. It was to be expected though, there was no way they could ever fit the entire story of what happened on Beta into a VN. I just wish they gave MWC it's own route showing how all the pieces of Operation Skuld fell into place.

The Kagari in V&A is way more fanatical than other routes. She knew Yuki from the future, and knowing how she looks like and where she was at the start of the war she impersonates her in order to become friends with Mayuri and keep Suzuha from erasing the timeline as it would mean she had failed to protect mama. She knew she had insufficient resources so she sought out Leskinen, about whom she knew as the brainwash dude and he helped her with money food and shit and at the same time gave important info from future to him in exchange and became his mercenary.

As for why Yuki wasn't Yuki, probably done to keep things fresh and plot twist narratively.

Zero has a different approach to information that S;G in that the information needed is spread through multiple routes instead of one massive info dump per day. The stuff I mentioned is what I drew up based on her and Leskinen's info. Leskinen mentions he thought Kagari as initially just an orphan looking for food making wild claims about time travel to be noticed, but then he examines her brain to find her indoctrinated by future Leskinen. The only info I drew up was the part about her knowing where Yuki was at the start of the war due to coming from the future- it could also be that she knew due to her DURPA/STRATFOR connection although whether they'd have the info about what is a random stranger is somewhat hard to know. But then again they know of Rounders so why not?

I've been playing through 0 and just got the Promised Ricotta ending where Reyes was the endboss and you send a D-Rine at the end. I know how this series works and all, and that there are multiple endings I need to work through (hell I've been semi-spoiled already so I know atleast some of the stuff that I haven't seen yet), but I thought that was really fucking short compared to routes in the first VN.
