Everybody was running on empty by the time Ace died. Even if he did manage to somehow kill Marco and the rest of the Whitebeard pirates by the time they finished they would have had nothing left. There's no way that ability was introduced for no reason, and I don't think Oda is gonna kill Law to make use of it. I don't even think it makes sense to turn someone into an immortal in the current story, the point of the ability is that they get to live indefinitely so the effects wouldn't be seen if the operation happened in the present.

So, I was bored and decided to watch Film Gold.

Why do so many of you faggots seem to dislike it?
I think Tesero was certainly a weaker character than Z, but the film and action as a whole felt a lot better than Film Z did.

Also, I liked the theme usage more in this one.
All the shit about freedom, money and authority is very well covered, but they still did it in fun ways.

I especially loved the joke/idea of "Kane = Kami = Kame"
I feel it makes more sense in english though since they can directly say "Gold = God" as the pun.

The Yonkou aren't so much an organisation or rank, but a title for the four most powerful/influential pirates. If one of the Yonkou dies/retires/is surpassed then the next most powerful pirate gets the Yonkou title, like Blackbeard did.

The introduction of the term made it seem like there happened to be 4 powerful pirates who had each other at a stalemate in the race to Raftel, hence "yonkou". It's not like there always have to be a "yonkou".

After that we learned that they control NW territory divided in 4, so that's another angle to the categorization. Blackbeard probably got added to the "Yonkou" group because it was a very straightforward replacement of WB, he probably took his territories along with his fruit so it made sense.

But if the world went into chaos and they started to get defeated, I don't think there is some kind of weird necessity for there to be new "Yonkou" emerging. Pretty sure in the time of Roger there weren't 4 devas or anything of the sort, just pirates competing

Well at this point if they were cartoon evil like some other OP villains it wouldn't be interesting. They probably genuinely believe that the secrets of the world must remain hidden (along with the weapons and whatever the One Piece is), and have found across the years that they need to get authoritarian and ruthless to keep everything under control.

The Gorosei as men obsessed with control and dominance as opposed to Luffy's seek for freedom is a nice enough framework to build the inevitable confrontation. Add to that Roger's aphorism about things that can never be toppled: inherited will, people's dreams and oh, the PASSAGE OF TIME. dun dun dun

Actually I think it's pretty interesting how Clover says that the key to everything is the name of the kingdom. The Gorosei seem to agree considering they order to kill him before he says it. From a storytelling POV, this wouldn't make much sense if the name of the kingdom was just some random new thing we didn't know about, the reveal wouldn't have any impact on the reader. So the name is probably related either to something we already knew when that flashback happened, or at least to something that we will come to know before the name is revealed.

I think what makes the most sense, considering everything we know now, is that the kingdom was actually called "Raftel" or something very similar. It checks all the boxes.

My point is, something huge enough to have the three of them involved would have so many participants that having the three of them, without any other ally on the same place would be kind of impossible. Luffy + friends (might be part of the yonkou block by then)
And finally any nation not allied with WG/revo might throw a few into the fray.

I just want to see how things pan out, some groups have similar goals and can work together right until the end, then they'd have to turn on each other, because 'who leads' is fundamentally different for each. Like do you think akainu would allow ANY nation to ignore WG rules even if they are not part of the WG alliance?

I expect WG to have a few WMDs up their sleeve. These fuckers have lazors, cyborgs, fruit eating objects, cloning, nerve gas etc. That's probably only the last 20-30~ years or so.

But that also begs the question of 'what fruit does vegapunk have'. It's either a way too see the future/past tech or he's learned of it somehow. I ignore dials/snails because snails are more information transmission and dials haven't featured as much as they should have. The World Government is an oppressive, brutal regime that exists to turn the world into the personal playground of a handful of aristocrats. They can do this because the marines act as the military branch of the WG. That in turn makes belonging to the marines a morally questionable choice.

Akainu is especially bad, though, because while the other high authorities in the marines are either chaotic neutral or begrudgingly bow to the WG (I suspect a rebellion within the marines before the story is over), Akainu is their loyal dog who views their selfish bullshit as the indisputable word of justice.
