I'm rewatching the show right now and honestly, I'm liking Chibi Usa 100x more than I did the first time. She basically is a more mature version of Usagi, while being younger than Usagi. But also has times when she shows herself to be Usagi's daughter.

To be honest, I think Chibi Usa only became a problem in SS. When the shows production team started focusing everything on her. She was fine in R and S because the show still focused on an ensemble cast of 6-10 girls and Chibi Usa was just one of them.

Basically, we're arguing two different things. Sailor Moon as a show is heavily separated from the everyday slice of life segments and the sentai fighting segments.

When it comes to the slice of life 'everyday' segments, Usagi is a bumbling crybaby who sucks at almost everything. When it comes to fighting, she has total plot armor and always comes through to save the day.

Chibi Usa is the opposite. She acts more mature, is more understanding of other people's personalities and learns quicker than her mom in the every day. But when it comes to the fighting, she can't do much of anything and needs her mom, her dad or a Unicorn to save her.

I just disagree about Chibi being more mature overall. There are plenty of moments where she throws a tantrum and disregards the feelings of others; for example, when she doesn't want to eat the food Jupiter made during the episode with the dinosaur thing or the dozen times she runs away to try and return to the future but only succeeds in alerting the Black Moon clan to where she is. That's emotional immaturity. Now, I'm not saying Usagi doesn't also have moments of immaturity, but those times are never usually to the detriment of someone else.

I do think we might be talking about two different things, because in some ways Chibi-Usa does act more mature. Act, like you said, but not inherently is. I don't even know what I'm writing anymore.

But I don't see any evidence anywhere about her living 1000 years.

Chibi Usa travels through time at least three times (many more if you count all the Dark Lady shenanigans and black portals). Usagi and Co experience time travel not only in R but also a video game (based on SMR and written by the author). Pretty sure there was another time but I'll have to refresh my memory by watching SS and Stars again. I'm just in S right now on my rewatch.

If they were meant to go into the future through the time portal, then Pluto would be the one telling them to do it. This whole argument really comes down to if Usagi and co go into the future at some date or if they become ageless beings and live for 1,000 years. There doesn't seem to be any evidence confirming either one. Which for all we know might have been intentional by the production staff/original author.

They did in a sense. DiC was one of the many subsidiaries of Disney until it was later sold to another company. And Disney had a heavy hand in controlling what was altered to make it acceptable (in their eyes) to air on TV. This meant not only removing all homosexuality and nudity, but also completely confusing things like splicing multiple episodes together (probably because of taking 10+ minutes out of multiple episode led to a lack of footage).

Disney also toyed with the idea of making a live action clone of Sailor Moon before even releasing the anime. The obvious reason being if they made the show themselves, they would have full control over it and wouldn't have to license the anime at all.
