I've watched too much anime and I'm probably forgetting something obvious, but I can't think of anything off of the top of my head that I didn't know going into it, that it would end up probably being shit.

At least for me shitting the bed implies doing something unforgivable that immediately ruins the show.

Like Jared from Subway. Very inspiring, but no amount of weight loss can remove the fact that he was a kiddie fiddler.

I mean I GUESS you could look to anime original endings, but that feels like cheating. Same thing with cancellations, death of an author, etc.

You can do ambiguous in terms of facts for an ending, but you can't do ambiguous tones.

I remember /a/ was so hyped for it, me included, and the first few episodes were promising.

The only memorable scene I can recall was Nakiami telling a little boy she wished she could have birthed him.

Also the openings were fucking rad.

I know, it could have been like Over Rev and filled a market gap which was good seinen racing manga/anime, but I guess the author watched Gundam Wing and thought it was a good idea.
