Has anime ever made you cry?
What would be the point in watching it if it hadnt? The only reason to watch fiction is to self insert and "feel". If you cant tear up from anime then you very likely have the emotional range of a pebble.
>>153281868
Sometimes. I remember tearing up with TTGL a couple of times.
>>153281908
Are you saying i am emotionally stunted?
>>153281908
You are a faggot.
>>153281868

Fucking millenials.
>>153281868
No, but the ending of Assassination Classroom came closest.
I probably would have if I wasn't so focused on how shit the majority of S2 was.
Every time.
>>153281974
But I am almost 28, Anon. Point is that pursuing this hobby for animation and art is pointless so youre left with emotions. Industry standards have dropped so hard that anime as an art form wont fill more than 24hours a year, and thats probably an optimistic estimation.
>>153281868
Zero.
As far as I can remember at least. I got problems with emotions in any case so I might be just special case. I unironically am diagnosed with PTSD.
Anime that made me feel some degree of sadness was Hokuto no Ken. It made me experience sadness and respect. Kinda like in a funeral.
>>153282000
In that episode I was like:"Just die already you fuck"
>>153281868
One Piece did with Hiruluk's death and I got kind of teary with Señor Pink's backstory too.
Saddest I've been outside those was when Carlos turned into a retard in Ashita no Joe and Joe realised the same thing was happening to him.
>>153282044
You are still a millennial though. Isn't it kinda from 1 to 30?
No, I've never cried over a work of fiction

Millennial is anyone born from the mid 80's to the mid 90's.

>>153282254
I actually thought it was perfectly paced, the "final roll call" is what almost got me. I also thought the very last episode was the perfect way to end the show.
Unfortunatley, all of the shit leading up to that moment was pants on head retarded imo
>>153282254
I'm up for a good story if you want to talk about it. How'd it happen?

You might enjoy Sheriff of Babylon if you're not opposed to /co/ stuff.
>>153281868
SNK anime made me cry once, when Mikasa was hugging Eren after finding out he's alive. Manga made me cry like a little bitch at various times, like the chapter where Mikasa is rubbing Armin's back as he vomits next to a tree, or the pages of young Zeke being brainwashed by Grisha, or Erwin's death, and most recently the latest chapter with how fucking dead inside Eren is (actually, most things the author says about Eren make me cry) despite Armin being absolutely euphoric at finally seeing the ocean.

What about my name?
All the time I at least tear up to anime. Straight up weeping though? I don't know, probably a couple of times. Actually, fiction is the only thing that gives me that stimulation now.
Also, I found a somewhat relevant picture.
Clannad..
made me cry

No idea how anyone could ever cry over Clannad considering the atrocious art-style of that show.

Visual novels have a bigger emotional impact though, i was crying like a little bitch on g senjou no maou, sharin no kuni and even grisaia.
SamFlam made cry plenty of times.
Tons of times. Off the top of my head:
K-On!
Natsume Yuujinchou
Lucky Star
Tamayura

Honestly depends on my mindset. If I've had a few beers and I'm watching something in bed at night it's easy for something to make me cry. But when I watch stuff sober or during the day it usually has a lot less emotional impact.
I teared up to episode 1 of Symphogear last night actually. It was too hype to not shed a tear.

Few tears here and there gives me a refreshed feeling after being emotionally drained in a series. It doesnt matter whether its anime or a movie, but I prefer anime because it has a longer time to invest me in the characters before breaking that link.

Yes
The most recent anime I remember making me tear up was Ushio to Tora.
No, but I always try really hard to not cry, even if I'm alone, which is weird. I'll get mad though.
Watching an anime without crying at least once is like watching a porno without ever jacking off. Yeah, you can do it, but what's the point? You're just depriving yourself of a lot of the enjoyment of it.
>>153290025
I do the opposite. I tend to try to encourage myself to cry if I can see even the slightest excuse, since I like the nice feeling of release that comes with it.
That one episode of CCS where Sakura accidentally wrecks her dad's whole research after spending the entire episode frenetically trying to help him complete it.

Glad to know I'm not the only one, feels like so little makes me cry properly anymore I have to hype myself into it sort of, like with the ending to the K-On movie I got beyond just watery eyes and got to shed a good few actual tears with a bit of mental work, it makes the expereince feel a bit more real and proper.otherwise I worry I can't muster the correct emotional reaction to things, I can tear up at anime or the like but my grandma died the other day and I feel nothing. Shit's weird, man /blog
>>153291082
I don't remember which part I cried at but I tend to cry when the series is really good.
Code geass was entertaining and therefore GOOD
I cried a lot whilst watching Monster, some anime made my cry tears of happiness, like FLCL, I teared up at a bit at Now and Then, Here and There. But overall I don't cry much at anime, though I will feel sad about particular things like the end of Cowboy Bebop and certain episodes of other anime.

As I grow older, I find myself crying during anime or movies a lot less. Sure, a well-executed scene can leave me sad and depressed, but rarely do I actually cry now.

Also fumoffu, Gintama and lately Konosuba but for good reasons.
Only, kind of related, the only cartoons that hit me like a truck were some Futurama eps like Luck of the Fryrish and Jurassik Bark

Actually yes, here my personal blog for (You):
I am a big guy with a beard and a job that allows me to basically watch anime all day and not give a shit about anything, kinda made it in life.
When I was 12 my dad told me to go to bed before 9 pm, shit sucked because they aired 2 episodes of Slayers every second night and the second one stared at 9, so I couldn't watch the second one. Talked to my dad about it and he told me to get good grades and I can stay up until 10.
So I did. Fast forward a few years, I told myself that I'll be rewatching Slayers when I got rich enough. I did became more successful than I could have ever wanted. So I rewatched it and When I finished all ovas and seasons, I opened the window, light a cigarette, and put on the first OP.
Than I cried, but I felt good meanwhile.
Oh yeah, and started watching a lot more anime after Slayers.

The only times I've cried watching some sort of media was this >>153311869 and The Green Mile. Also I tend to tear up a bit when I read about people who died with an honourable legacy, most recently being Chico Mendes
Nabuca's story broke my heart too, but Sara -- especially hersuicide attempt-- destroyed me.

Yes. I actually did cry during Clannad After Story. That's the only time I can actually distinctly remember although I'm sure I've teared up at a couple of moments while watching other anime.

Anyone that says they didn't tear up at the Ushio/Tomoya reconciliation or just the entire ending in general is a goddamned liar or on the spectrum. That shit is like, unfairly designed to make you cry with the music, the scenery, everything.

This is gonna seem like some serious entry-level, anime normiecore shit, but... I've watched Clannad all the way through three times. Cried each time.

Another favorite.
I un-ironically cried watching Clannad. It was long enough that I was very invested but short enough that I could empathize with the ideas quickly enough that it didn't feel drawn out. I liked the crying, but I hate pain though it felt good.
>>153283571
Fuck the end of Gunbuster got me good. Wasn't even slightly expecting it, I was just there for cool robots
This scene got me pretty bad. The fact that everyone showed they had something to live for, only for Satou to realize he has nothing to live for hit me.

I didn't expect to feel like this.
Ojamajo Doremi has been making me cry consistently. It feels very sincere and has gotten so used to touching my heart at this point.
Theres only been a couple of dud episodes and that's really something seeing how I'm in the third season.

I only time I remember tearing up watching an anime was the first Tenchi movie, when Achika gets a glimpse of her future when she uses her power, and sees that using her power shortened her life significantly. I lost it when she asks Ryoko and Ayeka to take care of Tenchi because she knows that she won't be able to be there for him when he needs her the most. There's also the fact that he's unconscious the entire time this exchange is taking place, and doesn't even have a chance to say goodbye.

>watching the BDs
Episode 14 of Kaiji had me fucking choking.
>"He fell! He fell without a sound!"
Once or twice. The only time I recall was this scene. It wasn't even sad, but the nostalgia and crave for things that went by unobtained during my school days really fucked me up.
>>153307444
Goddamn that.
That episode topped the series so hard everything after and especially Repeat felt like nothing too special in comparison.
>>153319939
>the nostalgia and crave for things that went by unobtained during my school days really fucked me up.
That happens pretty much every time I watch a SoL
>>153307167
>>153320049
Yeah, ever since I got a degree and started working watching a SoL makes me ponder where was the fun I had expected. No friends, no memories to cherish, nothing even remotely parallel to anime school life.
I sure enjoy my SoL anime, but every single time I watch one or read a vn with a "group of friends" trait (Majikoi, LB!, Ruitomo, etc.) there's that mellow bittersweet feeling waiting for me.
Fucking feels, man.

>>153293325
same. i get happy when i get sad watching something good, it makes me feel alive.
I teared up in the first two episodes of Boku no Hero Academia. At the end of Code Geass, and some parts of Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso.
I watched Kimi no Na wa recently and i didn't cry a single time, which kind of feeled weird, since I believed a greatly praised movie would do that for me. Nevertheless I still think it was great. Got goosebumps several times, but didn't came close to crying.

Happy tears. It was the purity of it all.
This scene from the 2. ep of Boku no Hero Academia always tears me up, even when rewatching. How it is not a sad scene, but very positive instead.
The feeling you get from achieving your goals against all odds and while everyone else says you can't, is extremely fulfilling. Especially when the naysayers got to you and you believed them.
Coupled with an awesome ost, and you have me tearing up even tho it is just the 2. episode.
