The Little Witch Academia OVA's were amazing but the T.V series so far hasn't had anything that was nearly as good + the changes they've been making simply haven't been helping the story. It sort of assumes that you've already been introduced to the characters from watching the OVA's but at the same time writes an alternate story that you can start without the OVA's. But the story is kind of weak with how the characters are so comfortable with each other, plus the show just does some character introductions bad(Sucy was a dick at the start but everything is fine because she thanked Akko for saving her even though Sucy left both her and Lotte to practically die.) Akko and Amanda seem to already have meet and formed a rivalry with each other even though the first time they even interacted was the race.

Diana's character has also been changed and now she's in a weird position. In the OVA's she was much more bitchy and rude towards Akko but it still came off that she was a good person. In the T.V series, she doesn't come off as a jerk at all, just a good person, until episode 5 where she starts acting kind of rude again. Not as rude as the OVA's, but still rude.

Not to mention, not much has been happening. The show is clearly trying to build-up to something but it's taking a long time to do a whole lot of nothing. Episode's 4 and 5 pretty much didn't matter at all unless Fafnir becomes a relevant character and not remain in his cave trading stocks.

I just don't get what they're trying to do. Five episodes in and nothing substantial has really happened, and a lot of things felt handled out worse then the OVA's.
