There's even a better mecha show about coming of age taking place on a floating island in the middle of the ocean of a post apocalyptic Earth.

I liked it. It was a solid sci-fi/adventure-y show with good visuals, music, and pacing (a rarity in a lot of Japanese entertainment).
Not surprised some people hate it on /a/, but it's /a/, there's always a group of people that will hate even the best shows.

Needed to be longer and have a more flushed out back story. I'm still kind of curoius what life in space was like, and what happened to breeding girl.
