If we're gonna bait let's go full out. The web novel was changed for the light novel. Did you know originally Sinon just flat out beats Kirito at the end of GGO? Does a crazy three sixty noscope plan, shoots him through the head, win. Can't have Kirito lose though so they change it to a tie in the LN.

Likewise, in the WN Asuna kills that one dude who poisoned Kirito. But in the LN they change it to Kirito having to save her while poisoned.

This might make me sound like I'm a feminist but I only bring up female characters losing agency since by default male characters that aren't Kirito don't get to do ANYTHING.
