Good question. The art is weird. I get the feeling it's an intentional throwback to an older standard or style and the plot is generic shonen complete with elementally and sense themed characters (smell, hearing, touch, etc). Yet it's somehow very entertaining and my only real complaint is how extravagant the personalities have become. The pillars all look like one note characters and act accordingly.

I'll still keep reading it though.
