The manga was really good, but when I finished it I thought I had somehow missed the last chapter or something. The ending is just... almost great. It's fine. I was just hoping they would give just a bit more closure on their relationship. After so much shit and bitterness I was expecting a bit more more from the finale, I guess.

I really appreciated the closure from all of the supporting characters and their individual happy endings (including the /u/ tease). But I agree the main couple could have had an actual relationship. I don't think MC even realized she liked him.

This manga had so much potential, but in the end it became just another melodrama. The subjects are treated in a very unrealistic and binary way.

The majority of the supporting cast are the good guys. Ueno, the teacher, the father, the critic, the kids from Nishimiya's childhood, are the bad guys.Ueno exists only to mistreat everyone. Nishimiya only exists to love everyone. They have specific roles from the beginning. So plot convenience happens and everyone gets together at the end.

The only character with gray areas is the MC. He wants to help Nishimiya, but he has also practiced bullying. He likes her sister, but at the same time he despises Kawai and doesn't trust Ueno.

Kawai technically never did anything wrong. She didn't ACTIVELY bully anyone and even Shoya's freak out that led to all the bridge drama and eventual suicide attempt for Nishimiya was because Shoya started acting like a paranoid retard around her at which point she started freaking out and he autistically went off on her.
