The real argument is more fundamental. First off, this is an imageboard, and not a video sharing site. Webm support was added because you could fit lots of shit into the format at a much lower file size compared to gifs. With that in mind, it was added for it usefulness in delivering high quality animated images, not just so we could have video support.
Second, /wsg/ and /gif/ have sound enabled because those boards' only purpose is to post clips on them, so it would be kind of counterproductive to have an audio limit on them.
I like to think that moot allowed sound on them because he thought that those boards wouldn't have much going for them(other than a slightly higher file size limit) if all boards had support for the spacious webm format.

The more serious story arcs are interesting. The non-filler weekly mysteries are decent. Most of the filler episodes are garbage. The biggest hurdle is catching up to where the series is now.
