Genuine question, do Asukafags actually dislike Rei and vice-versa?

I like the original Rei and Asuka. I have my preference, but I like both.

However that's not easy nowadays, because Anno has totally lost it and has completely transitioned into a bitter otaku who hates Rei and does everything in his power to promote Asuka over Rei. This has resulted in multople low quality spin-offs which intentionally degrade Rei and upgrade Asuka, and particularly in his latest Rebuild movie Anno takes out his hatred on Rei.

This also ruins the fanbase because Asuka fans are disturbingly enough pleased with this and continues taking Anno's hatred out on the rest of the Rei fans. So no, I can no longer like Asuka because she has come to represent everything bad about Evangelion.

I don't really care for Rei, but I don't hate her. I'm just not invested in her at all.

I disliked used to dislike asuka because she was a tsundere. But now I dislike her because her inability to change. From all the cast she was the only one without a character development. Unless you count her going bonkers.

Eh, everything after EoE is cash grabbing trash anyway, I really don't care about how any character is represented in the Rebuilds. Not a single one has benefitted one bit from it.
Using Anno to validate your favorite character is pretty lame too.
