Man, I didn't realise it before but Luffy and Zoro took down the bosses in FI in the same chapter. Luffy wrecks Decken and Zoro wrecks Hody.

Now this is just my own small list of things that come to mind that I find quite curious and personally see as possible hints at SaNami happening by the end of One Piece.
10. Have them both talk about and be curious about the other’s past and even feelings. Of course this could still just be seen as nakamaship, but the weird part is why Oda would so often choose them specifically for this.

9. Having Nami being the driving force to save Sanji. Why in Zou have Nami be much more focused on getting to Sanji than any other strawhat, even more than Luffy. (Also, Sanji being the driving force when Nami is in danger, but that one is so obvious so…)
8. Having Sanji sacrifice himself for Nami multiple times. And also Oda seemingly avoiding them knowing about it by having them being unconcious pretty much every time it happens. I mean, he took a knife in the back for her!

7. Seeing Sanji run off to save Nami despite being with a woman who sort of returned his flirting. Even Viola herself seemed to see something was up.
6. The heart-shaped sakura between them. Right before an arc that focuses on Sanji’s wedding. I mean, it’s not neccessary, so why draw it at all? (Also, other color spreads with nice SaNami interactions.)

5. Making Nami answer Sanji’s confessions with “yes yes”, even as a joke. Also, not denying him. It would have been so easy for her to simply say “No, you idiot!” Having Sanji ask only Nami about her loving him is another interesting choice.
4. Having Nami step in to fight for and “avenge Sanji”. Both vs. Califa and in Skypiea when she protects Sanji and Usopp. Also the fact that she had that talk about his chivalry and even specifically said that “I won’t let her get away with this.“ about Califa.
3. Focusing most of Sanji’s flirting towards Nami instead of spreading it out. Seriously, Robin has so little Sanji-interaction in comparison to Nami that it’s almost weird. Also, Nami was the first woman Sanji showed heart eyes to. She was special right from the start.

2. That slap. Because it leads to tension that needs to be resolved, and it might possibly become a catalyst for change in the relationship between Sanji and Nami. Either way that slap is perhaps not romantic, but it does give off a feeling of deep emotions. Also, the thunder that timed perfectly with Sanji and Purin hugging. I said that was an ominous sign for Sanji x Pruin when the chapter first came out and I’m pretty sure it’s no coincidence that Oda decided to show that it was Nami who produced that huge lightning. Basically there has been a lot of Sanji/Purin/Nami drama… And speaking of.
1. The wedding themes. Thriller Bark, WCI, Omake Family Time and in two movies. I mean, this is just cruel fanservice at this point if they end up with anyone else. Also, the fact that Nami is called “Cat Burglar” which can mean husband stealer (Lola even used it in that context in Thriller Bark) and now we know that Purin is evil. If Nami fights Purin, that would definitely be number one on this list.

I think he's talking more about her generation. Much like Blackbeard is considered a member of the worst generation despite being older and more experienced than his peers, he's a new power coming forward. Brooks being old is one thing, but he's a part of Luffy's crew which adds his lot in with the new generation of pirates.

BM is a relic of the previous structure, but I agree that she didn't just become weak because of that fact. But we've seen that her ranks have become so bloated and her infrastructure is so shoddy that she'll be getting a reality check this arc about how things stand. I think Kaido is actually on the ball with this one, he's just arming up for all out war and the timing couldn't be better with all these new bloods gunning for his head.

Did anyone else get the thing with Thriller Bark where it never seemed like the stakes were that high? Like it was almost like a dream sequence "just for fun"? Despite attempts to have a CP9-type setup with the government-sanctioned asshole and his weird range of followers, it never quite worked out. Then this enormous monster that seems to terrify the characters but just seems funny to the audience

Even some of the ultimatums seemed mild - like "we have until dawn to get our shadows back because then the sun comes up" doesn't matter when (a) it's foggy as fuck (b) they could just stand in the shade (c) they could just board the Sunny (and maye Coup de Burst away from TB for a bit). Nami might get married? So? How is some weird zombie ceremony legally binding? No one else would know. They're fucking pirates, they don't care about contracts like that, etc etc.

I enjoy it overall, but as I said before, it's like a fun dream sequence more than actual events (other than the Kuma part).

Well I explained why, I thought. It was a fake countdown. They have until dawn or they die... unless they stand in some shade or go indoors or go on the Sunny. In the case of being on the Sunny, they could even Coup de Burst out of there and come back next night. It'd be like saying "in an hour this bomb will detonate! But you can just leave the room if you like..."

It also felt the most derivatively shounen arc in the sense that the fight with Oars and Moriah were very much "this isn't even my final form" over and over, and kind of silly powerups out of nowhere. Again, it's fun and entertaining but it feels kind of off.

And compare this dramatic lineup to, say, the CP9 or BW ones. We've mainly seen Hogback and Absalom being totally pathetic so far so it's hard to feel like they're a threat (granted, this is true of some other characters like the owl guy and kabuki guy from CP9).

Though to be fair, I think one of its purposes was to get back to the "I'm gonna be king of the pirates" thing that had got a bit left by the wayside for a few years by this point. Early One Piece had Luffy saying that practically every chapter and each person had their "treasure". It was this running them that everyone had a treasure and everyone should protect it. That all got put aside in favour of the more political angle and the wider world building. I felt this refocused on that.

I think there are two explanations at least: 1, Oda didn't expect things to get so crazy with flying characters and boats so it being there wasn't a big deal. 2, it's not so much about finding Raftel as much as it is about activating whatever's there or knowing what to do when you get there. I mean, Kizaru can move at the speed of light. If this planet is as big as ours (it actually seems smaller) then Kizaru could travel around it 7.5 times in 1 second. He could find Raftel really easily. But let's say he does? Then what? It might just be a normal island with nothing apparently meaningful on it.

Also, in this world, just getting to another island seems like a big deal. You need log poses and all that stuff, no one ever just sails off until they happen to spot land. Maybe log poses never ever point to Raftel so you need the poneglyphs instead. However, that's still massively undermined by Kizaru and other flying characters.

Well Teach says his fruit is special and "the most powerful", that's it's not like other fruit. A theme in OP is people not understanding the fruit properly or how they can get more out of it by being creative (e.g. Luffy's Gears).

So he does have a weird body and it's not in a way you'd necessarily expect from the Darkness Fruit. You could imagine it like a black version of Kizaru's fruit, but it clearly isn't like that. Yes and no. The strawhats had been marked since they entered BM's territory. Pudding just sent them to the place they were supposed to be captured in. Pedro is a thief that was successful in penetrating WCI to some degree, so I have always assumed he knows how to evade the Homies which explains why he and brooks were able to get around for so long.

But for the rest. Sure I can buy that she doesn't have that many homies in her house but I also can't believe that. Her house is where she keeps the ponyglyphs and her treasure. This is the one place that should be built like fort knox. Full of soldiers and homies monitoring every corridor.
