Nothing, all the leg work was done by Sorey and Maotelus was the one who actually guided Sorey, while Mikleo ensured that he wouldn't go insane from her bullshit.

Hell it's even Sorey's idea to use squires to purify the land. Lailah didn't do shit except lament about why Sorey couldn't be more like Rose, while Sorey's ideas actually fixed things.

There are quite a few hints in the Zestiria game that Lailah was doing nothing but fucking up. Your very first dungeon was a room filled with guys who became hellions or otherwise died of starvation because Lailah wrongfully assumed that they were ready to use the purification flame. Along with Zenrus not trusting her to pick the next Shepherd. And Sorey the shepherd who she does nothing but criticize is the one who actually ends the age of Chaos, and comes up with the idea to purify the land.

And the Zestiria official book outright says it.

This anime is made for the sole purpose of redeeming Alisha and Rose
They seriously get too much focus in both cours
I get they are trying to fix their characters from the game, but I just don't care anymore
I just want to see cool shit and trying to solve the problems of the world and how it works with some character development
this just straight up character development each and every episode with practically nothing interesting happening
This is just like the game in terms of it looked like it had promise at the start but then it showed that it really was all about Alisha and Rose
I think I hate both characters now solely because the amount of effort they are giving to making these two likable and developed when in the end I just wanted a better story for Zestiria
