Not particularly. When the Saints fight, their armor actually helps keep them alive from all of their super human punches and kicks. They explain this when Seiya and Shiryu fight in, like, episode 3 or 4. When they take their Cloths off, they say that even a single well placed punch would be fatal. He even Shiryu when he punched his heart and the punch he received to the head almost killed him.
