There are too many jokes that no one would understand unless they were from Japan and kept up with pop culture.
It'd be like dubbing Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Both would age terribly.

Haven't seen the dub yet, so I wouldn't know whether or not it's bad. But, if they're gonna dub the third season, I can only hope they dub the rest. I've seen people already decide to start the series at 266, skipping all the important and/or fun episodes before it.

This is one of the last series that makes sense to have a dub for. There's so many jokes and gags that rely on Japanese and knowledge of Japanese culture. Hell some of these jokes are so obscure not even Japanese people get it. You'd have to be a middle aged Japanese gorilla.

I nearly threw up trying to watch the Genderbend arc. You can't faithfully dub a show built around inherently Japanese puns and their culture. Whoever thought so deserves to be shot. Nonetheless, the Gintama dub is a landmark achievement...in cringe anime.

Why the hell did they decide to start with worst season? Also just listened to the first episode. Pretty terrible desu. It doesn't make sense to take a series as Japanese as this and expect it to translate well to English. Half the puns and references just don't work like the joke with Ketsuna Ana's ketsu no ana.
