Her not dying was bad writing plot armor bullshit, but I didn't want to see her die.
Really it's just a matter of the whole Alfheim arc being unnecessary, and Aincrad should have been extended fully. It's like they're just getting into the high floors, and we're just getting settled in so we can see some guild politics drama and and suddenly the big bad reveals himself and everything ends.
