Not saying he has any of that, you get to rationalise what he uses. but I like to think that his helmet has a slope thing near his mouth that he wraps his mouth around to get his fluids and meals. So if he pours water into the front it drains into his mouth, and it works with food because he can get stuff to roll down this slope.

That's not how it works. It's not 100% a DnD game. When characters are being "controlled" the gods are just rolling dice to try and guide their choices and actions. When not being played, they're still living beings and go on with their lives.

In Priestess's case, she's stuck with GS, who makes the game unplayable. As long as GS's around, the gods can't roll goblin-related dice, so they probably had to start a new campaign elsewhere.

I forgot to add this to this post, but when the Goddess "rolled a new party", she caused Priestess to meet her party. Those 4 were all presumably the Goddesses PCs. She caused their chance meeting with the dice, and by rolling high stats, managed to create two prodigy characters (Priestess and the now dead Magician Girl).

Unfortunately, she fumbled all her rolls, and they wiped. Only Priestess noticed the goblins, but failed charisma and persuasion actions.

He admits fighting them in open areas gives him more problems. When it's an exceedingly large number, anyway. In a cave or narrow corridor, enemies are forced to funnel themselves into you.

Let's look at this from an actual massive open rpg standpoint. I am goblin slayer 9000. That means since I was 11, I have only tried to do one thing, and that is kill goblins. Assuming our main character sleeps 6.5 hours per day, and then he also eats, does things, whatever, that gets us 14 hours a day thinking about killing gobs.

It takes approx 10k hours to achieve "mastery" in a field. This guy would get it in 720 days. 365 days a year, assume he takes breaks (he obviously wouldn't but just to make things fair) that means he works 5/7 of those days. That is roughly 260 days a year spent trying to kill gobs.

This means that our protagonist managed to become a master within 3 years, guaranteed. We will assume that he did this from 15-18 just for sake of appeasement. That menas when he was 10-15 he practiced becoming a master of arms, as shown in the manga.

We assume this guy clears 3 every 7 days, and going off previous numbers, he does stuff 260 days a year, which means he has 111 chances per year to get a rare drop. If he had bneen exploring caves since 15, and he is now 25, he has a >50% chance of seeing at least one scroll of something as small as .05% chance of finding.

So is this scroll an asspull? For this specific character, not in any sense of the word. In fact, if he did not have a scroll, that would be even more unlikely than if he did.

Now the real question is whether or not Goblin Slayer would have actually used that scroll on gobs before this situation where his hand was forced. I am inclined to say he was never in that type of situation. How can I say this?

Going off of previous numbers, the likelihood of finding said scroll did not hit 50% until the age of 25 (yes this is not a curve but instead an approx but idgaf to do that much statistics). The important date at this moment in time is when he achieved mastery, which was approx at 18. If the likelihood of finding it was semi-linear, then that means he would have had a better chance finding it after his mastery, and not before it. Once he obtained mastery, it is highly unlikely, if not impossible, to have been in a situation of near death if it only involved goblins.

This is where the quest that was proposed to him comes along. He would have never know of that goblin hive of existence since he preferred to stick to exterminating the local/near local goblin pestilence. This only furthers the idea that he would not have run into a "oh shit demon boss at end of goblin hive". However, as he was dragged to the demon hive, he used the scroll that he definitely should have recieved in his adventuring days, and during his early adventuring days, if he was in a sitatuation that required a scoll similar to the one in the manga, he would not have hit enough caves to have that said scroll.
