The show was shit, but the worldbuilding was legit interesting, the idea of everything have to be decided by games was a little Yu-Gi-Ohesque but it got my atention

How is this considered shitty? I mean writing wise its nothing spectacular, but considering most shows are a pile of garbage in the grand scheme of things its pretty high up there. I mean the only thing I can complain about is how the plot is setup in a way they can't really lose dissolving tense. aka plot armor

I actually thought Mondaiji was garbage and this was good.

This was a "you always know the protag will win but what trick will they use?" show.

Mondaiji just had a bunch of asspulls are plot devices shoved together. The victories didn't feel clever or display ingenuity. The narrative didn't really make me route for the main team and I was never really concerned they would lose.
