Yeah. He's a troubled dude and also the better Shinkai.

Basically, he's been compared to his brother for his entire life and the fact that all of his accomplishments (and he is legitimately talented) are inevitably compared to Hayato's has left him a bitter motherfucker with a temper. He does try to be nice to his new teammates at Hakogaku at first, but when they refuse to recognize him as anything but Hayato 2.0 he snaps and breaks a few cellphones and relationships and is an outcast as a result.

Ashikiba helps pull him out of his self-imposed isolation a bit, but he's still screwed up in a pleasant way underneath a chill exterior. Think a less constantly aggro arakita mixed with manami and shinkai.

He's honestly one of my top three favorite characters in the series. I like that people were constantly comparing him to Shinkai and calling him a carbon copy IRL which is exactly what his issue is inside the manga lmao

He's realistically flawed for his backstory and it casts an interesting take on Hayato's character as well given that he fucked up when trying to approach Yuuto's insecurities and that's left a large hole in their relationship.
