Daily BD ranking of 28 Jan 2017
1. Yuri on ice Vol.2
2. Sunshine Vol.5
>Where is your hope?
>>Where is your hope?
Right there, Yuri on ice was entertaining as fuck and had the most likable characters I've seen in a long time. Anime is saved.
LL's BD alone is already twice YOI not to mention all the merchandise and cultural impact in Japan.
And you fags wanted to challenge it still?
This makes wanna screencap this thread just to rub your face back to reality
>vol.2 vs vol.5
When will whales stop being retarded?
Vol.2 of Sunshine sold over 60k. Almost as much as YoI vol.1 and everybody knows that first volume sells the best.
You lost 2016. Stop being salty and pathetic.
Tuesday is going to be fun when the sales are released and yoi is far ahead of Love Live.
>selling at a 23% discount
>still being beaten by yoi
>muh BD sales
LL is a cultural phenomenon with insane merchandise sales. If you think homos on ice is anywhere near you need to see a doctor.
Yeah you are beating someone who already raped the fruits garden 3 months ago while you are here comparing your small sack to scavengers
Meanwhile on the site that actually matters.
Last time I saw Yuri on Whales attacking LL, they asked for sympathy points. This thread is no different
>when it sells like shit without event tickets
>already at a 23% discount
I rest my case :^)
So 40k is selling like shit now? Amazing. Let's see how homoshit on ice volumes without tickets sell.
>Homolust and yuribait selling this good
I'm a degenerate so I'm more than okay with this.
It's not like YoI fans care. LL is popular with girls as well so most would want see both succeed. It's only weird otaku that want to see LL "succeed" over YoI and who see it as a competition. Fujos don't care.
>Imagine the sales of a second season of Yoi
>fujoshow season 2 increases
Different anon but shitloads of people were insisting it's gonna sell like shit, that it's gonna be a total flop, that it'll never sell over 15K etc etc.
Suddenly when YOI was actually selling legit well the goalposts were moved at warp lightspeed, and now it's supposedly not a success unless it outsells everything else including a multimedia cross-platform franchise that's been going on since 2010.
Claiming "Nobody said it's going to sell like shit" is either lying or trolling
It's fun to shitpost about those who truly believed YoI was going to flop.
Feels good being gay.
I really didn't care if it would sell well or not.
It was a fun little show.
The butthurt is just an extra.
It's not "an anime original" either. The project was going on for 3 years and sold quite well, churning out CDs, video games and mangas before they finally decided to add an anime adaptation too. It's absolutely not an "anime original", as it already had a franchise going on.
Plenty of shows nobody expected to be great hits sold crazy good. Like GuP or fucking Madoka.
I don't see such threads made by fans of those.
It's always fujos screaming how they are going to dominate anime industry.
>It's absolutely not an "anime original", as it already had a franchise going on.
But in the context of the discussion, ie wanting originals to do well, it absolutely is an original.
I presume this is you?
It's trolling, anon. There's been loads of threads about anons screaming about how fujos are taking over the anime industry because homoshit series sell well, and so people wanting to troll /a/ pretend to be boastful fujos because it guarantees triggered replies
...That's not really helping your case. Most of this thread is the typical /a/ butthurt that girls like something that's not what they like. Quite a few comments are that they don't care. Also it's from before the 68k figure was released for vol 1.
>30k at best
As if that would be bad.
Why are they moving the goalpost so much?
Top anime franchises like Gundam or PreCure make 600 million $ a year. Madoka made 400 million $ in 2011.
You really think YoI is making even 10% of that?
Those BD sales only show that a lot of people want the fucking ticket.
No, it does. An anime original is not based on previously published material like games, manga or novels, it's supposed to be an all-new property.
LL anime was based on a franchise that had been going on for 3 years and had been producing video games, music, light novel, manga etc. It was already a well-known successful brand and franchise. The characters and the setting and the world had already been introduced in different media years before.
LL is not an "anime original" by any stretch.
But average is going to be 30k. Do you even know how fujo series work?
65k for first volume is nothing special.
>But in the context of the discussion, ie wanting originals to do well
That makes no sense. It's not an original, end of story. You can want originals to do well, and you can also wish LL every success in every media platform it publishes stuff in, but LL isn't an anime original.
Utapri always had an huge event ticket.
Also it's idol shit.
They always drop hard after Vol 1 just like Love Live.
Do you really believe YoI event tickets are as big as Love Live or Utapri's?
It is original because it followed no previous works.
You would end up saying that Nanoha is not original because it was originally Triangle hearts.
>highly appraised worldwide
Korra did not even got worldwide attention and you think yoi can?
30k still would have been amazing for an anime original backed by a small studio like MAPPA. People in this thread are acting like YoI not beating LL would make it a flop as if it's the same as Flip Flappers or something.
If it made 68k in total it wouldn't even be a flop.
Blame the whales. They kept on screaming that they own the industry now
They had their chance with Free. Did anything happen?
Same thing will happen again
>trying to insist this hard that LL is an anime original
It features existing already-introduced characters in an existing already-successful franchise, therefore it's not an original project. It doesn't matter if the plot itself is "new", it's still not an original and you know it.
Same way popular series OVA's aren't considered anime originals just because they feature the familiar cast in a new plot.
>it's going to flop
>it's not hitting 10k
>it's not going sell more than free
>it's not going to average better than Utapri
>it's not going to beat madoka/LL or Osomatsu
Why are they downplaying this so much?
>It doesn't matter if the plot itself is "new", it's still not an original
>make a thread that attacks the fuckig behemoth
>OMG why are they saying that our show is a flop just because we did not sell more?!?!
LLfags couldn't care less about your sales but by making threads like this, you are basically comiting harakiri on steroids. And we are here having a good laugh
Remember when Vol 1 was released and it "initially" sold 35k and they were saying something along the lines that it did barely better than Free and worser than GuP.
The very next day when it sold 50k that one guy immediatly moved the goalpost and compared it to Love Live 2 and Madoka?
That tells it all really.
I am a girls-doing-homoerotic-things-with-other-girls-fan who had to throw away whatever dignity I had left and pretend to like Love Live to win against Yuri on Ice-fans.
My fragile little ego depends on being a fan of anything that sells more and is popular, and thus proves that I am not a pathetic dumb loser who likes unpopular dumb loser-shit.
Just knowing that what I like is unpopular everywhere is insufferable and makes me question my entire existence. So I'd rather lie and pretend that something that I don't care about or that I might even hate is something that I like just so that I won't lose to a fictional enemy.
Don't judge me.
>The very next day when it sold 50k
It's 35k BD + 15K dvd dumbfuck
>LLfags couldn't care less
And this is like the first 20 posts.
Also, you're still in this thread.
Can you define what you mean by an anime original, anon? Do you think the One Piece movies that have new plots that weren't in the manga are anime original movies, for example?
Personally, I've always taken anime original to mean a new work that's not based on a pre-existing stuff; the conception and first debut of the story and the characters and the world.
More like because it's time thread are full of hipters retards who'll shit on anything popular regardless of whether the content is good or not.
At least in that sense, they're just as retarded as true anons.
Well deserved the anime is as aesthetic as based Hanyu
Fujos themselves aren't bad at all, but fujos who are casuals are the worst kinds of pigs. If you're surprised why people shit on trashy anime like OnS then you don't belong here at all.
>120 million country
Great to hear. Those shows are good. I'm glad they're doing well.
Dia has fat thighs.
A well deserved victory, both for the creators and the fans.
I think YoI had an excellent cast of side characters and fun writing, especially in the first episodes and episode 10 I think. But Yuuri and Viktor got too repetitive by the end and I couldn't cheer for Yuuri at that point.
I wasn't that anon, just saying what my main complaint about YoI is, but anyway, I agree. I wish the last two episodes were different, it could have been perfect but they already had limited time and budget.
>Sunrise sees homo sells
>Will change the ending to suzaku fucking lelouch
>Sunrise sees they are losing power
>Will deliver a proper CC end now to stop giving people butthurts anymore.
