Not really. The only reasons I can think of are technical (camera angles, surrealist scenes, etc).

Weird. I know the manga won awards, but this isn't exactly otaku fare, and the first season didn't sell particularly well.
I read an interesting theory that Kodansha settled on an animated adaptation because using real rakugo performers would have been too difficult. So the end result is a live action show that's beautifully shot and directed as such, expect for the fact that it's animated.
I kind of buy it, if only because they couldn't have picked a better studio for that kind of fuckery.
