I think it's still good, the NTR shit is really popular for how it makes the viewers jealous and spiteful; which it accomplishes. The arc was important to make the MC fall in love with Aki in a unique way. Right now it's up in the air, we know that MC has feelings for Aki, but was lead to believe it was the doing of Yoshina; meaning that Neko still has an opportunity, unless the fake trap friend gets her.
