The 3rei manga arc is the pinnicale of the series. Silver Link FUCKED 3rei up in terms of adaption to an almost unforgivable extent. The only reason I am even considering watching their shit again is that they might have neglected last season in prep for the film. If the film is every bit the action packed adventure it is supposed to be I can pretend they didn't ruin the two most iconic panels in the entire series with absolute QUALITY.

3rei manga was very good for reasons that have nothing to do with yuri, surprisingly.

They fucked up episode 11, everything else was pretty okay. Slightly worse than the first 2 seasons perhaps but by no means as bad as you make it out to be. And unless you're watching this for shirou rather than the girls then episode 12 was good enough to almost make up for the previous episode.

a) the pacing sucked. Narrative alterations aside. Removal or suppression of fan service aside watching it didn't capture the spirit of the manga
b) Shiro's reveal with Kuro and the two classic panels during were noodle armed nonsense.
You could levy any number of further criticisms at it, there is grounds to do so, but the two above are inexcusable.

Reading the manga 3rei felt like every next chapter was building more and more and more to a dramatic climax. Tensions and hype were high. For reasons I may be misattributing to the pacing it just wasn't there in the adaption.

Pacing did have some issues as they had to fill so much into just 12 episodes but even so they pretty decently with what they had. Again outside of episode 11 the only major issues I had were them skipping out on some of the important Illya scenes early in the manga(although skipping them did make the fight between kuro and Illya make more sense) as well as some of the cut scenes hinting at Kirei knowing more about what's going on.

3rei was mediocre. It was inundated with the shittiest of tropes that plagued action series, bland OC donut steel characters, and literally only rode on shallow hype that never amounted to anything. Granted that's what Prisma was always about - Fate fanservice but god you can always have too much of a good thing.

The single thing that carried it was because it finally revealed Miyu's backstory and it furthered the relationship between the cups. Of course, Hiroyama's vastly improved art as well.

Herz personally but all seasons are great.

The quality has been getting progressively worse, season 1 is best in everything, comedy, animation, fight scenes, maybe except the overly uguu designs.

My favorite arc was the first half of 2wei, followed by the second half of herz

IMO 1st season and 2wei herz is the best
