I'm modestly interested in the story, but honestly, the animation is crap. Grade-A, hot-steaming-pile-of-shit crap. I'd say there's too much time dedicated to the frankly melodramatic character interactions, but given how utterly shit the fight scenes are, I guess it's for the best they're rushed as fuck.

There's no build-up nor ceremony to the Digimon who previously hadn't had Mega/Ultimate forms achieving them, and when they do they barely do anything.

After the animation direction of motherfucking Mamoru Hosoda majorly influencing prior Digimon films, Tri comes across as so lackluster that I'm invariably left disappointed by the "Climax" of each entry.

I haven't given up on it otherwise I would not be looking forward to the next movie. However, the past 3 movies have been problematic for various reasons.

Number 1- Tai's characterisation would have been drastically improved if the dialogue was not so shitty.
Number 2- Filler-ish at the beginning. Could have given more development as to how Palmon and Gomamon reached their mega forms.
Number 3- The very fact the Partners got their memories wiped. Now I know this is meant to be sad but I expect them to use about 30 minutes at the latest next ep before everything goes back to normal.
