The thing thats most praised about Akira is its animation, which is unarguably amazing. In your subjective opinion the first hour was boring, many disagree.

It's common sense that Akira is incredibly boring at times. Not to mention the plot makes no sense. It's the animation we love. It's not considered the greatest however because that title belongs to this gem.

You watch Akira for the animation quality. If you want a better story then you should read the manga instead.

Akira is not a good movie. It's got great animation, interesting soundtrack, and a few memorable scenes, but the plot, characterization, and lore are very rushed and pretty shitty overall.

Look at this retard. The story makes no fucking sense. Also the editing is horrible. I noticed at least 2 incredibly bad jumpcuts. I don't even like the Manga but saying the Manga is just a longer version tells me you are a complete idiot and also have never read it. You watch it for the nice art and animation. Saying it's a good film outside of that is objectively wrong.
