If I remember correctly they broke up because sensei played some game and was extrapolating the character to the MC, got anxious, then mentioned something about breaking up and MC left in shock without listening more.

Then the next chapter is about her disappearance due to depression, they go to her apartment and Keita finally finds out her otaku habits. Then they went to find her and clear the misunderstanding.

This course of action made me feel like sensei is really endgame material and this chapter made me feel like a harem end is not something to write out yet.
