Honestly it doesn't take much for a harem MC to be decent. Yuragis' MC is fine, and he is a generic nice guy like Rito. But he doesn't run from girls like his life depends on it, and is capable of doing some pretty stand out stuff when it comes to it.
It basically boils down to that Rito has had almost no growth from chapter 1. Darkness as a whole has gotten bland. Though this is all subjective. Maybe there is some guy who thinks Rito is the best, but I do believe without Yabuki's art no one would care about this.
