The anime came out as goofy when he did "funny faces"
But in the manga he just seems creepy

A complete clusterfuck, the OVA animates the only good parts of it.

What it seemed like a simple tale of a dude taking a trip and meeting girls on the day, turned into insane ramblings of a mangaka that literally sees himself as philosophical genius.

Seriously, the mangaka is a math teacher that is notorious for spouting how much of a genius he is and that no other mangaka can compare.

and I think the author became too philosphical for his own good, all his manga was riddled too much psychobabble

Yeah, it gets overly philosophical as it goes, and it gets an even bigger focus on the fetishes. The last arc is more or less porn too and kind of ends abruptly.

I actually collected the entire import manga. Thumbing through it, I can say it's extremely odd. I don't read Japanese, but you don't need to to see it'seems very bizarre.

It gets fucking mental (and not in a good way)

I could stomach the crossdressing arc - and the part with the girl trying to fuck Kintaro over but repeatedly failing (and becoming a Golden Girl in the end) was pretty neat as well.

But it just becomes a rambling mess, to be honest
