This is kinda reaching crossboard territory but fuck it, I think it works pretty well.

I'm requesting someone to draw a pic that has Revy down on the ground, beaten up, bloody while looking up with a snarl on her face, while Frank is looming over her looking down aiming his gun.

The thing is that the sun is setting from behind him, leaving not much light left, having the Punisher being shrouded by a growing darkness from the front. He essentially needs to look like some dark ominous figure where you can only see his deranged eyes gleaming with killing intent and that iconic skull piercing through the dark (much like in the reference pics). Just try and draw him as menacing as possible.

It seems like you're juggling too much all at once. Do more focused practice. Instead of your usual process, why not do 1 whole week of just anatomy, figure drawing and construction(simplifying the body into simple forms)? Then in the next week, do clean lineart of the sketches, then color in the following week etc.

You won't be doing a lot of finished illustrations with this process, but you want to build up your fundamental skills first before going to full illustrations. It's a lot easier to learn coloring if you don't have to worry about wonky anatomy or stiff pose.

I'd say the most important thing, at least for anime style, is to study construction - do a shit ton of it, try to fill pages with it, do basic poses and dynamic poses. It's really just by doing a shit ton of work that you'll train your brain to improve and get faster in anything.

I've been around the bend and all I can say every rule or strategy works for a certain amount of time, if gesture drawings (for example) are suddenly starting to feel boring and not challenging DROP IT. I repeat, the second the amount of effort you are putting into something starts exceeding your satisfaction with the result, DROP IT, and find a new strategy.

Miyamoto Musashi once said (paraphrased) "Toss the spectacles in the trash, your goal here is to cut down your opponent dead."

It seems obvious in swordplay, the guy that is dead lost, the guy who is alive is obviously the winner. So it doesn't matter if you have to trace some parts, wing some parts, be careful in certain parts, just FINISH. Cut your opponent down.

Like in an RPG honestly assess how good your stats are at:
-Conveying the idea
-making it look neat and intentional
-pleasing color harmonies
-realism
-stylization

then decide on what kind of artist you want to be and distribute the stats accordingly.
