In the second OVA, it helped her with the singing lessons, culminating in the finale, where she saves the day singing a song to calm everybody.

LWA has basically been about animation from the outset. Magic = animation. It's about people who are into the joy cartoons can bring vs people who are into the technical craft of animation. Oftentimes they are blind to the value the other person sees in it.

Yoshinari's an animator first and foremost and this is his first fully fledged show, so of course he's spent more time surrounded by people who are in it for the technicalities, and he's also obsessive about the technicalities himself (if he was the animation director this show would not get finished), which is why Akko, who loves magic for the joy it can bring to people, is the protagonist.

If you haven't noticed, he's a pretty negative person and the lessons learned by Akko appear to counter the way he's lived his life.

Necromancy is the act of summoning, or using the dead for the purpose of divination only. That's what the "mancy" part means (cartomancy, phyllomancy, etc)
What Lotte does have nothing to do with divination. Summoning or playing with spirits can have many names, usually separated by purpose, such as spiritism, animalism, druidism, and many others. Since she does by singing, it fits more as a usual bard/druid casting.
