Not really. Sakura was completely useless and was sort of spineless when it came to Sasuke. That's why he never really respected her. The dynamic changes completely with a female Naruto. It would also make their bizarrely quick connection seem a little more reasonable.

The it makes more sense to actually write them as friends, as in continue writing Sasuke the way he behaved between the aftermath of the LoW arc and Itachi's introduction, and make them actually return their respective romantic interest's feelings before the manga's end.

This is actually easier and more compelling than expecting to magically fix anything by having two characters wanting to pork each other without any substance behind it.
