I understand the show has remarkably lower quality than other shows currently airing, and so far it has even lower quality than the first season did in parts.

What I can't understand though, is why this is such a one sided issue in most of these threads. The quality isn't amazing in terms of if its beautiful or not, but they definitely excelled at making the animation go with the pacing and humor of the show. It doesn't have to be five years hand drawn or Shinkai visuals to be appropriate for the show.

Yes the quality of animation is lacking if you compare it to other shows. No, that doesn't make Konosuba bad, but it does show that either they allocated no budget into this, or that they saw that people were praising the style they used in season one.

On one hand you have loads of simple minded people who can't accept the idea that shitty art does not need to imply the show as a whole is bad. They are logically forced to either say the whole thing is shit, ignoring that everything else about the show is still spot on, or to try and defend the indefensible art with excuses like 'it's just intentionally cartoony'.

On the other hand, you have the hordes of trolls who just want to shit up Konosuba threads because it's a pretty popular show. The simple minded group I mentioned makes for a very easy target, so the whole art discussion gets magnified to ridiculous proportions.

Also, it's not the exactly the animation that's bad, it's the quality of the drawings themselves, even the ones in key frames. They're just clearly drawn by people with little experience, talent or competence.
