Okabe was the guy with the ideas and the pillar of the group - the brains. Daru was the guy who mainly did shit - the handyman/brawn. Kurisu was just there doing both things, to a lesser degree than Daru, of course. Mayuri was there to liven up the place, and to be autistic at the needed times. The rest were just their wacky friends. Although I would've loved to see a sort of younger Mr. Braun helping out or interacting with the lab, as a rival of sorts to Okabe.

Mayuri started out being just there for emotional support for that, but by the point we get to SG;0, Mayuri was the actual emotional conscience of the group, and she's every bit as mad as the other lab members. Still, we got a taste of just what Mayuri is prepared to do to protect Okarin and everyone else. The VN obviously is a lot more expensive with details. The first part can feel a bit of a drag, but you get a way better sense of just how worn out Okabe got through his ordeal and undo the dmails really hurt you emotionally.

This means that Leskinen couldn't have learned about the important of Amane Yuki until he has that ability to parse memory data. He may have come across the name Amane Yuki from Kagari as well.

I really would've liked to see a variation on the promised Rinascimento where Kurisu's memory transfer was 100% successful, and Okabe has to face a Kurisu with Kagari's body who's now ridden with guilt. It would mean that all the brainwashing done on Kagari wouldn't apply anything since Kurisu has completely overwritten Kagari, and Reyes would be dead and there would be no electronic copy of Kurisu's memory left.
Technically speaking, Kurisu Amadeus would be gone and nobody would be the wiser about who got the memory. But it doesn't change the fact that Kurisu would have cheated death at the expense of Kagari. That can get interesting.

I'd like to see how that drama will play out for the whole lab. Maho would be utterly devastated, Mayuri could get very self-destructive as a result, and I have no idea how Kurisu can possibly come to terms with this Frankenstein nightmare while no one at the lab would forgive themselves over Kagari's death.

Mayuri would be in serious grieving mode over Kagari, as would Suzuha, although both would choose to trust in Steins Gate world line, with Daru siding with his daughter.
Kurisu would have pushed for d-mail or time travel to prevent Kagari's sacrifice, while being an emotional wreck that's no better than Okabe.

It's ironic that a midquel would need a sequel, but I do think that 0 could benefit from it. I've voiced how that more could've been done over the whole issue of essence transfer and its consequences through Kurisu and Kagari for one, and anon earlier mentioned about Fubuki not being developed at all.

Should I finish Stein's Gate? I mean I liked it and all, but after playing through Faris' route, I just felt like my life was complete. Like I could experience a greater happiness. Too Chuuni. I liked Steins;Gate because I could totally envision these people existing and hanging out. No protags with brightly covered over spiky hair, no mysterious genetic powers, only actual weapons were guns, conspiracies were done well and Okabes delusions actually fooled me into thinking the SERN stuff was all a joke too. Chaos;Child has that ANIMAYMAY aesthetic and Robotics;Notes just kinda felt boring.
I want a new SciAdv with the same aesthetic and execution as S;G with grounded technology and recurring characters like Suzuha but no more connections to S;G in any way

Daru can actually launch cyberattack across spacetime, attacking any harden target with 0-day patched vulnerability with impunity. It's actually a bit mind boggling that such things aren't explored in S;G.

First Steins;Gate thread I've seen so I'm gonna dump my thoughts on 0's ending. Will read the thread before replying.
What the fuck was that shit? This was not what I fucking wanted from the game. I wanted to see Okabe actually go through WW3. I wanted to see him research time travel with Daru, and how to make a fucking time machine. I wanted to see his relationship with Mayuri pan out, especially once Mayuri knows about her being the reason Kurisu died. With the introduction of Kagari, I wanted to see Mayuri raise a child. The same thing with Daru. I wanted to see Faris and Luka grow as actual characters. I wanted to see how Maho fit into the future story once she was introduced.
I got barely any of this besides hints. I got to play pussy okabe for more than 75% of the game. I got exposition on characters I could not give 2 shits about. I got straight up lazy writing when it comes to the plot. I got a halfbaked Kurisu replacement which should not have been in the fucking game at all. I got a non-ending, which seems to be purposely left that way to sell anime. I got incredibly lazy and some downright badly drawn CGs. In the end, I was fucking bored throughout nearly my entire playthrough.
Not to say I didn't enjoy and love the game, I just found it incredibly disappointing. It has some incredibly strong points, with Daru and Maho being excellent characters, an excellent soundtrack, and when Okabe stops being a pussy absolutely amazing scenes (Braun, return of Kyouma). It's just not what I was expecting at all. My hopes were probably a little high, but I still think the game really could have done better with some more meat, less Okabe sighing at everyone.

Physical time travel is different though and you would end up with two Okabes in 2011 and beyond which would create more problems than solve . The limits of time leaping was shown in the original in how any longer and it poses a real threat to your psyche in that your memories become incompatible with your previous state due to memories only being part of your personality/self.
As to how they managed to increase the time from 2 days I can't explain that as they just shrugged it off as Maho being a competitive genius and wanting to beat Kurisu's achievement and so increased it somehow.
