Some new Kizu part 3 stills have been revealed including
TV series will be fine. It's the jewing aniplex pulled for the movies that got backlash. Hope it happens to Heaven's Feel as well, though I doubt it since Fatefags are blind drones
I really hope Monogatari can recover. Especially since the novels seem to finally going in an interesting direction again.
The movies themselves werent horrible either. They just shouldve made it one long 3 hour movie to make up for all the years they took to make it.
>read the kizu LNs
>felt like the scenes with cat were pretty short and the main focus was koyomi talking with shinobu and questioning his humanity
>shinobu is literally asleep for the entire second movie
>movies are 90% cat fan service
They reached for the low hanging fruit and fell flat on their faces. I'm glad it's flopping. Fuck Shaft.
Aniplex ruined everything. It should've been one long film and should've been released years ago when the Monogatari hype was super strong.
Also didn't help that the second film was airing while "Kimi no na Wa" and "Koe no Katachi" were also airing. There was no way it would be able to compete with those two especially the first.
>Cat gets kizu, neko: kuro, and neko: shiro
>Cat gets three arcs that have enough screen time to be its own anime series
>she doesn't exhibit any personality aside from being "le big tits glasses girl" until she makes an appearance in Hanamonogatari, which isn't even her arc
How is it possible for one character to be so shit? I genuinely think she's worse than snake. I have so much hate, anon.
Do you have to watch any other monogatari to watch Kizu? (Ive seen nise, bake, neko, and "second season", but havent since and i forgot a shit ton) all in all do i have to rewatch anything, to watch whats out of kizu so far?
Shinbo is a Catfag and stated that one of the reasons he continues working on the series is to look more into her character. Also pretty obvious that she's a favorite of Nisio.
She's not going anywhere, and I wouldn't be surprised if she got another arc in the future. Whine some fucking more.
Look alright to me since movie sales are usually around that range unless they are very popular series. Monogatari at this point isn't that popular as it used to so although the sales are alright compared to the sales Monogatari used to sell on the tv anime discs it's very disappointed for a hype up release for over 7 years.
I literally told you to whine some more. You're also an idiot, I see.
I forgot about that. That is kind of pushing the mary sue to a new level. What a bitch.
I'm so glad the movies did like shit.
I gave this shitty ass studio my heart and money for years to be fucked like this. Fucking shit is nothing like the book.
This guy is totally right, they skipped so many important dialogue like the talk about araragi wanting to be a plant. Made it look like the faggot just turned into a tree because fuck you.
What was that shit about him pulling his arm out? It fucking regenerated in seconds.
And god, that awful, cringy Episode animation being repeated during the fight.
They had ONE job and completely managed to fuck everything up. Fuck SHAFT. Fuck Jewniplex. This shitty trilogy never existed, everyone back to the light novel.
>I'd die inside if more of her was written in the future LN's.
Then die inside. She's one of the few characters that has a constant presence in the entire series.
The problem with Hanekawa is that she doesn't change. I liked the arc where she realized that she should embrace her envy and frustrations instead of ignoring them, but she hasn't really changed at all since that arc. She was pretty much exactly the same in Koimonogatari. The reason I prefer Kanbaru or Sengoku to her is that they changed and stayed changed after their arcs. Hanekawa is so static
Well that's shit writing then, because she's just been more of the same "wonderful person nice girl" crap she's always been doing. I get that she'd doing all kinds of intense political shit, but she's still just doing good things. I think I'd think she was more interesting if she did something wrong for once
Is it any different than what we already got?
Yes, she went from an anime cliche who's entire existence revolved around Araragi's penis to an actual person like everyone else. She has finally made it to the level every other character has started at.
Truly astounding, you must be proud.
>she went from an anime cliche who's entire existence revolved around Araragi's penis to an actual person like everyone else
If that's all you truly got from her character in all her arcs especially White then so be it.
It's literally Koyomi and Kiss-shot just standing in place and ripping each other apart for like an hour. It should be absurdly violent and over-the-top. Did the movies even show Shinobu or Koyomi digging around in their heads?
Oh. You're that faggot. The one who claims that there is amazing depth to her but always says some inane shit that everyone already knows and doesn't mean anything when pressed for details.
Dude, it's not that she didn't have cool arcs, it's just that they didn't stick at all in an interesting way. Araragi said he loved Senjougahara more than her, and she cried and accepted it. Now, she's back to being interested in him, and offers him her boobs to motivate him, just like she used to. She's supposed to have excepted her anger/envy and yet she is still the same laidback kind girl. She hasn't fucking changed at all, despite what her arcs tell you. It's annoying
Hanekawa was basically already an adult by the start of the story, it's not like she will fundamentally change how she thinks, she will only free herself from what's weighing her down. It was the same for the other adult characters, like Senjougahara, Oikura and Hachikuji.
The change for me was more that her facade was lawful good and her inner self was actually chaotic good, which is clear in musubi, but since she spoils Araragi either way it wasn't that clear with the history narrated on his PoV.
She's the most interesting to me. I don't get why I have to post proof to back that up. That's my opinion, and if someone doesn't like her/thinks her arcs are boring then that's theirs.
Hanekawa is an envy bitch. Shit character with too much screentime.
Sodachi is a real bro. Great character with too little screentime.
Because people are sick of a character they don't like getting screentime. I'm not sure why you even started posting if you were just gonna drive by your opinion and then cop out.
>just realized will get more of Gaen in future LN's
At first, I thought Sodachi was just a cold bitch who expected too much from a twelve year old Kyomi to read into her overly complicated subtext until that one scene where she said:
>When I saw your happy family, I knew I could never have that.
>That happiness looked too bright, I thought it would blind me.
>That happiness seemed too heavy, I thought it might crush me.
Or something like that. She was just self-sabotaging the whole time because she thought she was too broken, dysfunctional, or undeserving to have a happy life. And none of this is fed to the viewer directly. I wasn't able to figure this out until I thought on it for a few days.
Truly, Sodachi was an actually compelling character. She did more with the 10 minutes of screen time than Hanekawa ever did with her 12+ episodes or whatever the fuck.
>people are sick of a character they don't like getting screentime
Only a few people since theres 20 people including myself in the thread. It would be a nice if the other girls got more screentime, but it seems Nisio doesn't feel the same for whatever reason.
>i really hope i get to brag in about 5 minutes
HF is considerably longer than Kizu and could actually use 3 movies. Kizu is a bad adaptation because it misuses its runtime. It would also fuck the pacing to a lesser degree since there are clear break points in the story. Obviously a Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya-tier movie would be preferable, but I'd rather see three parts than a shitty adaptation.
I'm not even a Fatefag, but I do like HF.
When did you realize that the Iron-blooded hot-blooded cold-blooded Kiss-shot Acerola-Orion Heart-under-blade was the best girl?
So far, the movies have still sold 40k BDs
2016 alone Gatari series sold 3 million including merch, novels, ect.
its diminishing but not flopping. aniplex still made bread even from the smaller returns comparable to releasing it 2012.
id take smaller sales and higher quality. cuz the old kizu trailer looked weak in comparison
Unfortunately Nisio never gave the chance for her to settle down.
>Freaking out and fired from the public office arc in monster season
Not at all, both bake and nise were more inspired, while kizu is just a boring monochromatic movie with some good animated scenes.
Which is not surprising since we're not talking about a tv series.
The same can be said about the previous monogatari though.
Later Monogatari still looks very good when they want.
Sodachi will have a lot of work to make that house habitable.
Sodachi arc in general was really good looking though besides some QUALITY scenes. People just focus on how robotic the characters act in some webms even though it is an awkward situation to everyone and Sodachi is an awkward person.
It didn't need over the top imagery from bake or kizu.
Nise was better animated and better looking than Bake overall. That's straight up objective fact, everyone just cherry-picks the same few stylized scenes from Bake when talking about it's visuals.
>Nise was better animated
Only better than the worse Bake arcs
>better looking than Bake overall
Not at all specially because the art direction pales in comparison to Bake. Neko Black looks better than Nise too.
What in the unholy hell is going on in this movie?
Nise was great. It introduced Kaiki and Kagenui who were fantastic antagonists and it finally had something like an overaching storyline instead just girl of the week. I think people only hate it because it had more fanservice than Bake.
The only problem I actually had with Nise was that Tsukihi doesn't actually appear that much, even in her own arc.
It's still girl of the week, in a certain sense; said girls just so happened to be araragi's sisters.
Either way nise is also a further development of araragi and hitagi's relationship.
It's true the series has more fanservice than bake, but it's purely visual and inserted during actual dialogues, and if you ask me neither vulgar nor annoying.
Bake does that as well. Snail and Cat have significant portions dedicated to Senjougahara. Nise is only different from Bake because Oshino left and Araragi had to start relying on Shinobu and interacting with third parties.
Bake is an unconventional romance story about araragi and hitagi, I was just pointing out their development continues in nise too.
I don't get your point about oshino leaving how did that affect the structure of the series?
Because Oshino had all the answers to the problems Araragi was facing and was the permanent human link to the oddities. Without Oshino the importance of Shinobu as a character is heightened and it necessitates Kaiki and Kagenui being introduced. The process of the arcs changed dramatically.
>Truly, Sodachi was an actually compelling character. She did more with the 10 minutes of screen time than Hanekawa ever did with her 12+ episodes or whatever the fuck.
The point of their arcs is completely different. Sodachi needs personal intervention and therapy while Hanekawa just needed to accept she wasn't at fault and swallow the fact that the attempts to connect with her stepparents and her adopting her abnormality of cutting her emotions to better suit their selfishness was the wrong path.
Sodachi on the other hand needs therapy badly to get her to stop being so willing to accept retribution to solve an issue when she isn't at fault.
They sound similiar, but Hanekawa had the more nuanced narrative. Sodachi was more tragic, but ultimately self inflicted tragedy. Hanekawa took so long because people were either too overwhelmed or over awed by her to approach her like a person instead of Saint (Araragi) or some demon in his head (Oshino), but she ultimately has greater personal strength.
>Sodachi was more tragic, but ultimately self inflicted tragedy.
Yes, she self-inflicted 13 years of abuse, self-inflicted the insanity that made her live with a corpse and self-inflicted the social dysfunction that led her to becoming a hikikomori. You look like Meme saying Hanekawa's abuse was self-inflicted by acting too perfect, except the other way.
How does a character acting in character mean bad writing. She is just more upfront, not suddenly going to become some super rude character to male an example, she was never like that thematically to use the same old gags some other characters do to stand out.
Plus, they cut out the parts of Tiger that directed showed how Hanekawa was dealing with two oddities inside her, instead of being like a majority if the other characters that had them removed or exorcised. Her butting heads in Ougi was another change, where normally she would simply just flick Ougi on the head and smile while making a lecture, she confronted her and lost her composure a bit.
And she is more "getting tired of your shit" in the commentaries. Less full smiles, more "let's take this outside" when pissed.
What? No, by self-inflicted, I didn't mean the situation with her parents, but the thing she admitted herself, the want to be comfortable in misery and thereby being as acid as possible to stave off potential happiness. It's classic abused person MO, you either pull inward or lash out outward. Hanekawa and Sakura from FSN is the former, people like Sodachi are the latter.
Oshino was saying that Hanekawa made her parents feel bad for being asshole so her pain was deserved, I say no such thing about Sodachi other than that she does perpetuate her problems but she is not at fault. She needs therapy.
Then you shouldn't use the word 'ultimately'. Sodachi's problem ultimately are caused by her the emotional and physical abuse from her parents, and without that she'd be much closer to her mirrored version. And what you're saying is something along the lines "people with depression should just see the life in a positive way", she wasn't unhappy because she wanted to be, it was because no matter what she did in the past things only got worse so she had doubts.
After all Sodachi tried multiple times to become happy, she tried fixing her family, she tried having a little hero save her from her misery, she tried to protect her mother after the divorce and she thought she'd be popular if she solved a big mystery like the trial. The only time she gave up was during the two years after the trial, in which she still went to school for one day in hope something would change. Hanekawa saying that was for her more a "don't give up" than "you've been doing wrong all your life".
>go to Amazon to buy Bakemonogatari LN
>TL is Treehouse-tier
I'm gonna rage cage.
I thought that the anime just handled her bits badly or something but even in the LN her exposition dumps are obnoxious. Meme was shit in Bake but she manages to be 10x worse.
She easily could be a way more fun character than she is too.
