It's starting. Get in here all 6 of you.
Even the slut can't save this show.
I'm praying it's better this week otherwise I'm not giving it any more time.
It's not. You just blind and don't understand sakuga and visual direction. Go away to reddit trash hole
>art director worked on a bunch of SHAFT anime
Here's the cute girl to distract you from horrible backgrounds
Yey, Team Shadow aka "Nothing personal, kid"
Why do you think Blurays for Handshakers cost 200$?
>Episode 1 looks like ass but still enjoyable
>Episode 2 somehow looks even worse with scenes like >>152355620, >>152355877 and >>152355951
I genuinely believe that they do this on purpose.
Shirtless Tazuna for everyone.
He magically took off everything in a sec, this guy belongs in Akiba.
Its called Vaporware. And that unusual movement and dynamism thing that makes people dizzy is called Animation - people almost forgot about it with all the flapping mouths and cardboard cutout walking.
JESUS, This has to be a fucking new low.
Reason why i love Handshakers.
Take an exaple of Flip Flappers last season - its a typical example of tryhard anime trying to be and look original, standing out. Like a hipster who read few lines of popular poetry and bought fashion magazine, trying forcefully to create own image: while ultimately falling into the narrative and cliches, and look of mainstream in every aspect.
Meanwhile Handshakers is VAPORWARE. VAPOREWARE genre was created to riddicule consumerism and egocentric hedonistic society, yet it backfired and it turned into glorifying it.
Same with Handshakers. It doesnt "try to be". Its the ultimate consumer product gloryfying decadence and consumerism. Its a flashy AMV with flaunting with rich effects, graphics, camera work - looking like TV advertisemt for some product. Vulgar, mismatched, show off, tasteless and full of chemical food addictants making you want more and your teeth turn black. It is not sublte, not deep, not symbolic - its just turning all valves on commercial product to a degree where it becomes more than just that - it becomes art.
How easy is Japanese in ep2? Still waiting for subs. I understood everything in Flip Flappers without no subs, but I couldn't handle Girlish number. Is there enough story to worry about subs?
Yes, I appreciate it for what it is. Unintentionally hilarious, just like Another. It's literally bloom filters, PS1 CGI and dynamic camera movement. If you wanted good animation that isn't flapping mouths and cardboard cutout walking you wouldn't be watching this garbage or most anime in general.
What the hell, this is /a/?
You all told me that you were lolis, you even invited me to a meeting place, what, did you want to rape me or something?
Sucks to be you I ain't even cute
There are 5 teams in Handshakers.
Team Gear, aka team Autism - pic related
>the room is alright
Other dimension/world bullshit when fighting confirmed?
Team Shadow aka Team Nothing Personal >>152355962
Team Sword aka Team /a/ >>152355474
Team Card aka Team suffering - pic related
This is the only good character in this show.
Fuck off Shinra, dont you have Dullahans to dissect?
Gave me Kiznaiver vibes
Girl in Team suffering is big titty classmate?
I currently like Team Card, hopefully they do interesting stuff like attacking with Persona's or summoning monsters from children's card games
Nothing much to webm so far.
Is this something I'm not getting? This doesn't make sense.
Evangelion reference? Godhands confirmed for bros.
This pair is cute, too bad they are destined to be Persona tier villains
So, I liked Coppelion a great deal, color filters and all. I liked whole 'school girls in ludicrous miniskirts fightan with superpowers' shebang y'know. Story doesn't have to make any sense.
Mardock Scramble was good stuff as well except for that casino shit.
K on the other hand was 2fujo4me.
Now tell me should I watch HandShakers?
The ED is way too grimdark. Please no.
So. Anyone else here just because the 3D looks exactly the same as the 90s cheap 3D? Brings back some memories.
This is your Boss tonight
Get them tears reservoir filled up anon.
>fight scenes will be bitstarved until BD
People who dont watch it on huge screen - TV or 35+ inch monitor simply dont understand how it looks really. I am 2m away from 35inch monitor, and cant stop watching it. Will try this episode with HTC later too.
>unironically aots, at very least has good potential emotion and story wise
Chuuni "revelation" about retads with big heads fighting each others. Add vomiting designs, dumb loli fanservice, edge, eye cancer and LN tier dialogues.
>Revelation of Babel
All my sides. Get some taste in chuuni
So you're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation...
>Actual fucking nosebleed gag in a show like this in 2017
This one at least alright.
Nothing. Really. VN adaptations are trash unless they're high budget ones.
>VN adaptations are trash unless they're high budget ones.
True. This is why I want to read the translation before the anime airs (I'm too fucking retarded and useless to learn japanese).
It's the target audience for generic LNs that use made up terms (or stuff that doesn't mean what the story tells you it means, like Ziggurat here) and betamax MCs in stuff involving fights
And notebooks filled with your edgy backstory and magic chants. Don't forget your true name
If JUDGEMENT KNIGHTS OF doesn't play 90% of the time you speak, you shouldn't watch this show
This is the designated hatewatch/irony watch of the season. You can only go along with the hate while hiding your true feelings about the show. It's the only way. Because the hate won't stop
You have no idea how dedicated I am to hatewatching things, anon. That said, I don't really hate this show. I can't take it seriously enough to hate it. It's just bad in a really bland and sometimes funny way. I got a few laughs out of him getting that nosebleed in the bath, and not in the way that was intended.
OP shows at least two pairs not listed on the site yet.
It was said in episode that Chain pair is official out, but i doubt they are out of the story since have own profiles and werent even named in anime yet, so we likely see them again - though maybe not as Handshakers.
I'd be curious to hear what you and others like about it. Not because I want to laugh at you or start an argument or anything, but because I legitimately can't see the value in this show, and I'm curious what that would be for you. The best I can make out is some sort of high budget animation porn.
Pair Scating > Solo Ice Scating
Final Boss? It seems he have his own pale haired loli.
I actually like the animation style, the OST and I dig the plot even if the MCs are generic as fuck (but because they're so generic, they don't bother me. I don't like them, but I don't hate them either). Also, I absolutely love the gears that are the MCs' power. Specially the huge gearsword
It isn't about the number of posts. It's about the percentage. Most posts are hate, so I cosider to post my true feelings that aren't hate and mocking the show too much of a bother. Because I'll likely just get people replying to me with insults or laughs
I thought this ep was better than the first one. Koyuri and Tasuna are pretty cute together. Thanks to no fighting scenes, the QUALITY wasn't as glaring as well.
The daily life scenes also didn't have as many fish eye camera shots. And the camera actually didn't move as much. They also didn't have crowd scenes
You don't have to force yourself. The problem is trying to shut up any positive opinions about the show
Yeah, sure. That's totally the emotion this show invokes.
It was great compared to the first one, I think they did something to the CGI gears and chains quality as in >>152361367,>>152361414,>>152361607 . Last week episode had the same scene but with overall garish and blocky looking CGI.
Hate, mockery. Call it whatever you want. The problem is you fags shitting on the show and not allowing positive opinions
Anything wrong with enjoying chuuni stuff? I absolutely love chuuni VNs like Demonbane and Tokyo Babel.
Mostly love effort put into it and artistic direction. The second being actual emotional relation to the characters - despite them all having very little screen time, can already feel for MC and his doll, the loli boss pair with her underling, MCs parents, Kaicho and her apparent brother. Interested to learn more about the Chain guys, particularly relation of the girl to the edgy chuni and their motivations.
Rare show makes me actually that INTERESTED to learn more of its characters. The plot meanwhile is kinda irrelevant.
Overall it reminds me of X Japan, where i could relate and be interested in characters as well. Most other "battle royals" leave me entirely cold.
Overall, X was the first thing i though when seeing Handshakers plot and visuals, since X also stood out for its time.
That is a pointless question, since it is not the case and any speculation about such better left to when other annime tries the same but without GoHands talent. Also to note, regardless of plot i was already excited waiting for it since it was GoHands - though i falsely expected [K] and its nothing really alike
Many other shows just aren't appealing, Hand Shakers is good enough in comparison to other shows.
While the storyline isn't groundbreaking, and you may consider it chuuni, it is good enough for me.
The main reason most people hate the show is for the animation which apparently hurts their eyes, I didn't experience this so much so I am not butt mad about the animation.
The point of asking that question was to gauge how important the art, animation, and other production values were to you, versus your attachment to the characters. I wanted to know if you could still enjoy the latter even if you didn't have the former.
He can't do it for long periods of time. He CAN, but he risks her dying. So he only does it when there's no other way (such as undressing himself and washing Koyori). And even then, he worries if she might start feeling bad, so he still has to hold her hand in every situation
It is nice to know people dont actually die fighting in Ziggurat, though they do sustain injurist - however it seems not fatil and easily recovering after they leave Ziggurat, since are inflicted and maintained in that reality and dont apply to our
Though doubt it`ll remove all the edge from Battle Royale like this - people still attack MC despite him explaining the girl will die if he lose, so at very least they should have strong motivations to participate and kill
As said, pointless question. I enjoyed plenty of shows with horrible production values, but it is wrong to try to separate anime into different pieces - its a complex media consisting of multiple parts and all being equally important: story, visuals, direction, soundtrack, characters.
Generally good direction > story > characters > visuals > soundtrack. I can watch bad story with bad characters as long director is superb, can withstand bad looking show if interested in the story. Generally however if its just good visuals/soundtrack, but i dont like characters or story or direction its not worth for me.
>people actually like this repulsive cliche ridden garbage
Am I being trolled?
Too damn cute
Contained his rape urges by becoming Gundam.
No, beta MC would have chickened out and run away.
He however realized that he has responsibility, and despite his shiness and hesitation undressed her and washed the naked body.
If you want genuine beta mc, check evdLive
Tazuna is actually Tazuna`s sister. When Koyori died, Tazuna sacraficed himself to switch souls with her - thus Koyori soul occupied Tazuna`s body while Tazuna`s soul became locked in Ziggurat.
However Koyori`s soul feels that something is wrong with her being, memories and the world in general so feels the urge to find and "fix" it.
This show is fucking weird.
How can something look so good, bad and weird at the same time.
Also the plot so far seems like complete garbage.
Are they really pairing up the generic MC with a girl that has the mental age of a baby?
That's stuff that would even make me slightly uncomfortable in porn.
One thing that was missed from explanation in this episode is why, if Handshakers are chosen few from all the world, the final battle and final competitors are all in same city in Japan.
I doubt after defeating the 5 pairs MC will be told "Great! You passed qualifiactions! Now get a plane to Mexico for next round!" instead of facing God, so those 5 should be the finalists.
I mean, if it were center of the apocalypse they would at least mention it. They however just said that Handshakers are chosen "around the world" - indicating there are Handshakers outside of this city and country too.
They are releasing Comic and Novel too.
Then you don't get the point.
A lot of shows have a unique style of art and animation, but the thing that makes this show seem weird is how it's not consitent with its quality.
You have amazing shots while 2D characters are glitching out, highly detailed art, that got placed on the background like shit.
Just callign it "different" doesn't mean much.
After watching this ep I feel that this show is a poor man's Guilty Crown. Would have been better if it came out in 2012 without the CGI bullshit.
Still, it ranks pretty high this season for me. I'm just a sucker for this type of chunni shit where people are manifesting giant glowing swords from thin air and getting power-ups with a nice OST playing in the background. Oh and cute girls of course. Really how much more could you ask for? Is this not why you all are here?
It is though. GoHands strength is that unlike most studios they developed own style and dont fear to use it. They are recognizable for it and have many trademark nuances, this times pushing it even further.
You expect things by specific standard, but its not made to. Also not that Art Director for the show actually worked for Shaft and that would explain quite a few things.
Anon, if 90% of the threads for a show consist of nothing but shitposting, I don't think anything related to that can be considered a success at all.
Personally I can't wait until everyone but the 6 people mentioned by OP leaves and we can have some quiet threads that die in less than 50 posts for every new episode.
I doubt that`ll happen though. Its not the show that fades away after few episodes, its the opposite. At the moment most people think of it as ironic meme and base impression entirely on unusual to them visuals of episode one, but as the season progresses it`ll become evident its one of the better shows this season simply for a reason it actually has good production values, story to look forward to and nice characters.
There is really no competition to HS this season whatsoever, since its season entirely of sols/comedies aside Youjo Senki.
Are you a machine?
There is nothing better than watching experimental anime with 6-10 dedicated and excited as you anons. This is inexpressible experience.
Koyori is my waifu!
That one was actually nice though, and with good overall direction. I don't think anyone unironically believes anything like "they don't understand" in this show when the storytelling is not complicated and the mess is in the visuals.
>implying Carnival Phantasm isn't a masterpiece
>They are trying to save this show with loli fanservice
It's working for me.Autistic loli is mai fetish too.
Not even close. That Lily girl has melon tits.
>Anime where MC's parents are around and active in MC's life
>Mom clearly ships them together
Probably is that their daughter never died and was on coma state until now. they never said in the anime that she have died.
The Brazil stuff is an obvious lie, but one that someone can buy. Brazil have a lot of japanese immigrants from the WWII and its common for their descendants to go back to Japan. I have a friend that is a second generation immigrant and he can get japanese nationality.
Yeah, Koyuri is probably the actual daughter and they don't know it. They have the same eyes after all, she woke up when MC was near her, which would make sense if he was her brother, and the professor said she was different and could only exist in the real world if she gets energy from MC and hand holding.
It's kinda obvious that she's dead or semi-dead and somehow manages to sustain her corporal form when supplied with energy.
Risa Taneda makes minor comeback voicing a mob, she was supposed to voice that little girl voiced by Sumire Uesaka
A new argument from haters to block different opinions and dismiss them
>it's only 1 d-d-dude s-s-samefagging, yeah
>no more than 1 person could possibly have a d-d-d-different opinion from mine
You guys think you act like tough internet critics, but in reality you act like pathetic babies
We should just ignore that one fag though, it's most likely even a false flagger to make fans look retarded which is pretty stupid since nobody here considers himself a fan of this show, there are just a few anons who enjoy watching it for whatever reason, like myself.
If you're talking about the retard making "rate this season" threads with this show as AOTY, you should have said so.
I do enjoy this show, but I don't think it's even AOTS. That guy must be baiting for replies or like >>152371222 trying to falseflag the few of us who enjoy the show.
Anyways, he's surely just using the show to shitpost and he doesn't actually like it. I just ignore those threads because it''s obvious as fuck it's the same baiter making them
I love it.
This entire thread is ironic shitposting, it's a terrible show thats only amusing by how bad its animation and visuals fuck up whats an otherwise generic VN-tier story
No I didn't want to accuse people of falsflagging, I was just accusing that one retard. As said, I like this show. I think it's pretty flawed but I enjoy it and I think the second episode was far better than the first anyway.
The main problem isn't the plot, it's that terrible 3D/2D mix but I am slowly getting used to that too I guess.
It's a pretty extreme case of the bad MC syndrome. It's always hard making MCs genuinely interesting since you're following them all the time, even when they're doing mundane shit and they are plot devices anyway. I think the problem here is that the girls is almost non-existent, I mean she doesn't even talk. And MC is just the typical MC. I really like most of the other guys though.
>mfw knowing four languages, none of which are moon
I'd trade French and Italian for moon any day to be quite frankly honest.
>nosebleed instead of a boner
>the anime is being entirely serious about it
>hear thudding around and yelling, when your son is upstairs and alone with a strange girl.
>don't go to see what the fuck is up
I wish my parents were that worried about me not getting laid.
This episode was pretty cute. I like the MC for not complaining and manning up to the situation he's presented too and the parents so far the best. The reverse headpats are endearing as well.
This show is phenomenal.
This is quite possibly the most innovative and genius piece of media to ever come out of japan.
At first glance the juxtaposition of the character animation, backgrounds, and weapons seem to be jarring, but that's where the true brilliance comes to play.
In having a 3d background, this anime attempts to create a fully immersive scenario in which one can better feel of the area and have more detailed weight to the surroundings(as well as weapons but I'll get into that later).
The use of 3d also comes to play in the camera work as well.
Many shows attempt panning shots in order to display the events, but it can come off as rough, forced, and just odd looking in the long run and the reason they don't work is because at the end of the day they are working with a 2 dimensional apparatus.
This is where Hand Shaker's true strength comes into play.
The use of a three dimensional dynamic camera gives a better sense of dynamism in panning shots and displaying everything in the scene. It gives depth to the scenes and exhibits world class cinematography.
The weapons as well are a very interesting piece in terms of immersion. In this world, the characters are dealing with new, weird, out of this world, magic-like happenings, and as such these masters of direction have made the weapons look like something out of their world. In having this done it creates a whole new level of realism(in their world and ours) and displays how these strange objects would like to them and how unique their presence would emerge.
The fact that a country that produces such derivative works and titles for the sake of monetary gain only, can deliver a work such as this is awe-inspiring really.
This show, while a visual treasure, was still an experimental task, and the fact that the creators even confronted this gambit shows that anime has a chance to improve and change for the better.
Anime will evolve and Hand Shakers is the missing link.
For all the flak this show gets, it's not even that bad. It's entertaining.
Second episode was definitely easier on the eyes than the first. It sort of reminds me of Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito since that show had an awful shaky cam in the first few episodes that made the show almost unwatchable.
Kinda sad this episode wasn't as much of a roller coaster as the first episode. But I still laughed at that goofy explosion in the beginning. I unironically like the MCs parents and look forward to the next battle where the camera will jump around like mad.
