sadly the "revenge" in the title is a red herring.

this is a straight romcom/harem anime. they use the "revenge" to give the MC a reason to reject far superior girls left and right, and then the author retacons everything to make the main girl more sympathetic (if you read the early manga chapters again after the retacon, you'll see it was rewritten because the author is a hack), then destroys and rewrites Yoshino's character just for the fun of it to make it certain there is no waifu wars and only one possible end to the story.
