It's really well done, but most people rate the manga higher. Some of that comes from the fact that jokes/scenes in a manga can be read at the pace/timing you like whereas in an anime some jokes/scenes might feel too quick or too long.

I think it's worth a watch. But I'm biased because mai waifu's voice is a miracle.

Well let's break it down.

Sakaki and Tomo are out of the question from the start.

Yomi and Chiyo may take a shot of Tomo to use against her but would likely not do anything to upset Sakaki so they're out. Nyamo wouldn't take a shot of anyone without their consent period.

So that leaves Yukari and Osaka. I doubt Yukari would get up before anyone though so I think we can safely say Osaka took it.

I like to imagine that if that didn't pan out, Tomo ultimately ends up in the same job as Yomi, working for the same company, in the same office. They both eventually marry some dudes, and it turns out their husbands are related, so they even end up at the same family functions and they end up living in the same neighborhood.

And when they get to be old ladies, they both get put in the same retirement home, and in the end, even their graves are beside each other.

Someday, Tomo's boating of how they've always been together might jsut get overpowered by Yomi shouting NO ESCAPE.

Dear God, I miss them. I really wish Azuma would give the OK for a Yotsubato anime, but I understand his view. I still love everything about this show: the humor, the music, the characters, and just the real development of the term "Slice of Life". A lot of school SoLs tend to just check off all the "big events" of Highschool to represent them, but Azumanga didn't. They showed multiple culture fests, vacations and had those few unforgettable moments, like the march around the school or the jumprope scene.
Gah, what I'd give for a little OVA, or Supplementary Lessons in an animation.
