One of the biggest, most disappointing examples of wasted potential in anime is Eden of the East.

I don't know why /a/ tried to force this so hard. All I felt was disappointment when guillotine showed up. Interesting "hero in real life" scenario with some actual messages dropped for sentai pandering that becomes increasingly absurd for absurdity's sake

Only bad thing about Samumenco was the shit animation, the rest is 10/10.

I liked the show becoming crazy more than the realistic hero part

Figured they were just playing at masayoshi's obsession. I like the show somewhat but everything after guillotine felt like it was without any real meaning beyond being over the top. Throughout watching couldn't help but feel the show would have been way more interesting if it had stayed with the "realistic" setting and instead had masayoshi face the yakuza or get involved in the underworld somehow as the climax/latter half.

It would have at least made it more entertaining to rewatch. All of the over- the-top stuff loses its appeal after the first watch. Hell it was barely able to maintain the appeal once masayoshi got a team
