It's a natural and inevitable cycle of every medium, it's just that anime is much more recent than anything except videogames so this is seen as something new

This brings me a bit of worry. If people become animators because they get to draw cute girls, but the market is shifting to fujoshi, it could lead to a crisis in labor avaibility. If anime becomes about fujoshi, with no cute girls, but a significant number of animators are animators just because they get to draw cute girls, wouldn't it be a risk that a significant portion of the workforce disappears if anime is no longer about cute girls?
This could be a disaster to the industry. No one is an animator for the money.

From the picture, it's like, studios have to pander to an extremely niche lowest common denominator audience in order to stay afloat, and now this audience is the group moving into the industry. It creates a kind of incestuous complacency, where the folks who like cute girls will just churn out cute girls for the rest of their lives and so on.

I don't really think this is a problem in the industry, or at least not a major one, but that's my interpretation of the image.
