Can you name an anime that peaked in the first episode?
Every anime, because people after seeing the first episode create an ideal continuation based on their limited understanding and hate anything that doesn't perfectly replicate it.
Shuumatsu no Izetta
Idolmaster Cinderella Girls
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Assuming broadcast order, this would mean that you thought The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina was the peak of the show.
Yeah, everybody knew nothing was gonna compare to the original short. It was lightning in a bottle. I enjoyed the parade, and the new ep, but I never expected them to be as good.
Sacred Seven. The show was the most mediocre thing ever but the fight scene in the first episode where he went berserk was pretty cool.
First two episodes to be completely fair, but the show definitely should have remained like that throughout.
That fucking spaceshuttle.
i think it has more to do with otakushit being generally terrible at writing but decent at coming up with interesting premises.
and with the incentive structure of manga/LNs being mostly about hooking readers with the premise, or hooking your editor with the premise so they will serialize you. success in these mediums is driven by a good premise more than good writing.
It had some other equally good episodes in my opinion, especially the one with Chamber's speech.
But yeah the first episode was a lot more hyping than the majority of the episodes that came afterwards.
Came here to post this. This show really pissed me off with how shit it quickly became and how good it started off. They should of kept it as an action oriented show and had the older sister as the main character instead of the incredibly boring moeshit it turned into.
