I... I wrote a song for Cocona.

You are my Cocona
My only Cocona
You make me happy
When skies are grey
You'll never know, dear
How much I love you
Please don't take my Cocona away

I hope she'll like it.

Most of the threads since the end of the series have been started by shitposters copypasting directly off social media or else contriving some new paraphrase of "the last 4 episodes ruined everything and the show sucked, discuss."

I'd rather every thread start with Cockona than yet another armchair feminist insist Yuniko had some vision of a transcendental sapphic revolution planned until the evil MALE director stole her series and made it about Salt.

Just finished marathoning the show. Writing and cahracters were crap but production and style certainly were great. Also fantastic ED. Obviously a show that was made to pander to animators first by throwing fancy ideas together rather than trying to tell something solid with actual substance.

Papika's room is a total mess, can you guys imagine having to sleep there for even a night? It's so unorganised and chaotic! It'd be so hard to figure out where to sit so that you're comfy and also not falling on top of Papika. What would you guys do if she invited you to a sleepover? The worst part is she sleeps naked, so you'll have to be extra careful to avoid any embarrassing accidents!

>>151922073
I just wanted to see what people think who think that. If you took both scenes in isolation and separated them from context you'd probably have to say the Akage no Anne one was more vigorous.
>>
Guys I'm watching this anime and something doesn't make sense to me. Why does Yayaka get at angry at Papika for being friends with Cocona? Surely you can have multiple friends at the same time. Why does Cocona tell Papika she loves her and that it HAS to be her? What does that even mean? What was the deal with succubus Papika and that hotel scene? That was pretty weird.
>>
>>151922193
>separated them from context

Cocona is 14 and she hasn't even had a boyfriend yet. Come to think of it, are there even any boys in her life at all? She doesn't really seem to want to talk with them.

I'm getting a little worried. Maybe she's spending too much private time with that new playmate of hers.
>>
>>151922270
To see what people think? I literally just said that.
>>
>>151922301
Yeah I find it interesting that so much hinged on having that kind of confession scene for some people when it is easy to demonstrate that you can have confession scenes that could be seen as much more vigorous but are actually just innocuous children being children.

Yayaka met Cocona first so she has dibs on friendship

Because Yayaka fucking sucks

>What was the deal with succubus Papika and that hotel scene?

She was asking Cocona if she wanted to play Smash Bros
>>
>>151922451
This sounds like very complicated bait.
>>
>>151922451
It was another age people tended to be more formal/melodramatic
>>
>>151922451
Madoka loves Homura romantically and wished for Homura to free her from the Law of the Cycles so they could be together forever. Homura acted on Madoka's wishes knowing that her love was reciprocated and her actions meaningful. These facts cannot be disputed.
>>
>>151922563
this one here is a little too obvious compared to the other baits. Also don't go summoning bad news with talk of medukas please.
>>
>>151922520
It's obviously a topic that might cause some to sperg out but it isn't bait. It feels more like plenty of people want that kind of scene in part just to be able to have a vindication of their interpretation of the obvious context that is already there and feel betrayed without it to some extent.
>>
>>151922555
They didn't in reality, but fiction from that time period tended to overblow everything for the sake of having characters speak and think in intricate, artful prose. It was more important that the words were pretty than that they came together to mean something roughly descriptive of the real world
>>
>>151922209
>Why does Yayaka get at angry at Papika for being friends with Cocona?
Because Papika is a fucking nutter, anon. Would you want your friend hanging out with some insane retard? No. Yayaka is just trying to get Cocona to hang out with her instead of Papika, who is insane.

>Why does Cocona tell Papika she loves her and that it HAS to be her?
Because Papika can't get to PI on her own. Additionally, she can't get to PI with just anyone, it has to be Cocona.

>What was the deal with succubus Papika and that hotel scene? That was pretty weird.
Cocona was questioning her friendship with Papika when she entered that world, and so she experienced many of Papika's personalities that were presented to her in a fractured manner. Basically the whole of Papika as a person were split up and presented to Cocona as stand alone elements. In this way, Cocona could interact with each distinct personality and discover which parts she liked and which ones she didn't. The personality in the bed was Papika's romantic side, an older Papika who was interested in relationships and physical intimacy. We all have a part of our personality like that. In this case it's not that Papika wants to do those things with Cocona, it's just that this portion of her personality was presented on its own, which makes it seem unintentionally lewd.
>>
>>151922832
Anne herself as a character is just like that. The others in the show aren't. She gets berated for it at times. It isn't just written like that for the sake of it. She's just melodramatic and blows everything out of proportion by nature as a child.
>>
>>151922926
She also speaks in diction completely idiosyncratic for a child of her age.

It was unnecessary. They should've given Sayuri a better role in the organization in the first place, showing her actually doing some work and let her stay a background character.

The most we know about her is that she's really into henshin stuff but that was only ONE memorable scene. They should have spent a few seconds every few episodes showing how excited she is about PapiCoco's PI adventures to make her a fun background character with little plot significance like Hidaka.

It felt awkward and ruined the pacing. Doesn't help that it was also pretty sloppily animated as well.

Like, she was there with Mimi at the beginning. Then she shrunk and waited till Cocons came, who was basically Mimi 2.0.

Is that just want she does? Regresses and makes friends with a new Cocona every decade or so?

That comment was in the anti-FLFL thread on 2ch. And the second half boosted the show's sales since Nips love their complex dramatic plots.

And they can add in extra smaller scenes or frames of animation in the plot/action relevant scenes to help make them look more polished and well-paced. Jesus just look at how sloppy many of the scenes in the second half are compared to the first half.

>>151928284
The most prevalent theory is that evil Mimi basically gave Papika a "rebirth" in order to be Cocona's playmate. I hate that it's still so ambiguous though. She and Cocona will have a long and loving lesbian relationship with each other until the time is right. Then, Papika will push Cocona with a boy (probably Toto this time) and as soon as the baby is out, she'll shatter Cocona into Jungian stardust and whisk her new victim off to PI for some age-regression imprinting.

She's basically got a ticket to eternal youth and an unending romp in the lesbian breeding grounds with forever-14 blue-haired beauties, plus all the placenta she can eat. No hags for Pedoka, when her current victim outgrows her appetites, she just conceives the next one.
>>
>>151928520
>The most prevalent theory is that evil Mimi basically gave Papika a "rebirth" in order to be Cocona's playmate.
Have you not read the interview with Oshiyama? Papika de-aged because she jumped into Mimi's shit causing her to get stuck in an unstable PI which warped space time in odd ways, Cocona was never in Pure Illusion before the first time we see her go in in the show, those segments in the river with Mimi and the earlier meeting with Papika were just in her dreams where she had special access to Pure Illusion probably due to be Mimi offspring.

Explain ending please.

Resolved in a pretty cliche manner, clingy controlling side of mother is defeated by the kid finally wanting to be free and do things of her own accord. Pop off to a world that is more 'realistic', as if Papi staying behind altered the past/future. But then Papi shows up and they bugger off to the bright unrealistic world we spent most of the series in. Now was this a PI made for Cocona and that brief minutes in 'reality' was the top level reality before they went back.

I think everyone thought it was getting too EVA but would end on the super happy everything fine/back to usual note.

But where else could they have taken it, had to explain why the insane clingy red head was around and what the magic was. The OP had a bit too much action, wrote themselves into that corner.
>>
>>151928906
Adding to this: The interview didn't explain WHY jumping into Mimi caused time shit and de-aging or what the cause of this mechanic being suddenly introduced was. In fact, we still don't have a good explanation for why Mimi blew into shards in the first place

The two fan theories I've heard that I like the most are:
A. The Mimi from the end of episode 13 (the one in the lake, admitting she was wrong) used her powers to reach out to the Mimi from the flashback through PI and stop her from fleeing into pure Illusion with their daughter. The result of Mimi's self-interference was the destruction of her body, which set in motion the series of events that lead to the story playing out as it did. In other words, she closed the loop and made it circular, creating the cause of her own defeat because she had seen the error of her ways. Papika jumped into this breach where flashback Mimi was attempting to enter PI and future Mimi was interfering, and as a result got caught in the unstable middle-ground of PI between the past and the future. The influence of the PI caused her age to regress and her life to essentially reset, and she remained trapped in there until Cocona freed her.

B. PI requires two people to enter. Even Mimi cannot break this rule, as the research facility needed to find a partner for her in order to send her to PI in the first place (that partner being Papikana). After going postal, Mimi's will was still divided between her two sides, and she attempted to enter PI using Cocona as the second part of the pair. Papikana intervened by jumping in. The result was that Evil Mimi paired with Cocona and Good Mimi paired with Papikana. Since Good and Evil Mimi both share a body, she was essentially pulled through two separate dimensional transitions at once, which shattered her body. Because Mimi blew up and the transportation to PI failed, Papika got stuck in some vague middle layer partway in.
>>
Daily reminder Writer 1 single-handedly killed the show with the episodic random bullshit.
>>
>>151929139
It was Cocona rejecting the chance to live in a normal world without flip flapping shenanigans
>>
>>151929139
The "realistic" one was just another Pure Illusion. Possibly the one that Salt said he was creating with the Elpis machine. So when the came out of the one they were in fighting Mimi they ended up in that one and then left that realistic one for their real world. You can take its meaning to be all sorts really. It could be interpreted as anti-escapist in the sense that its message could be that thinking our own real world outside the show is dull is an illusion like the other Pure Illusions and that the real world is colourful and fun.

>>151929369
If there is an explanation of that exactly precisely it will be next Friday if ever but I wouldn't count on it. The show was intentionally crafted to leave open questions from the start.
>>
>>151929369
>The interview didn't explain WHY
It did. Basically an accident. Also Oshiyama didn't have a vision for Papika to have a dramatic backstory. So Mimi meddling is unlikely.
>>
>>151929484
I got the impression yeah, that it was basically just an unplanned accidental side effect of whatever incredibly high power thing Mimi did to shard herself up.
>>
>>151929139
Papika tried to save Cocona from the collapsing PI by putting her in a bubble and sending her back, because Cocona didn't want to leave without saving Mimi first.

Papika went off to take the risk and save Mimi on Cocona's behalf, but Cocona cut herself out of Papika's bubble while crossing between PI and the real world. The result was that she fell back into PI and ended up in another layer.

The "bland world" Cocona wakes up in is a Pure Illusion (we assume Salt's, since it was the other layer there). All of the people present her fakes, PI denizens. Cocona is mislead into thinking she's in the real world until the real Papika shows up to retrieve her. Together they exit the bland PI and return to their real world where all of the characters are happily waiting for them.

It was basically a bait and switch to tease a bittersweet ending and then give us a full-on happy one instead,

So the ending was horribly rushed and we're relying on external information to understand the haphazard pace and perceived inconsistencies presented with only the anime to go on? Really should have had the plot kick in at 6 or a longer season. Intended vagueness as described by some of those interview transcriptions is just as infuriating, it's more like 'I can't adequately plot or write lore, so I'll say it's vague on purpose!'
>>

Not really, the show was specifically crafted so you could enjoy it while paying as little attention as you wanted to that shit for cute girls or you could get into the deeper stuff if you wanted. None of it is required to understand the point of the show which is the Cocona and Papika relationship. The rest of it is essentially window dressing for that.
>>
>>151929899
Full on happy and full on sad both happen but they're equally rare.
The overwhelming majority of endings are middling and mediocre bittersweet or "their story continues..." endings that leave you without invoking any particular feelings at all.

I would much rather one or the other so at least I can come out of a show feeling something about it.

It's not "intended vagueness." Someone was talking about this in another thread, but the well-done thing about this anime is that it doesn't rely on expositions.
It shows the story and what the characters are feeling, and will even use PI to its advantage in doing that. This actually ends up saving screen time, as you don't have DBZ moments with people standing around and talking philosophy.
>>
>>151930362
There is intentional vagueness and there is nothing wrong with that. Oshiyama said that the PIs relate to characters but they didn't want to make it abundantly clear who they were related to so fans could basically try to speculate about it and that they as creators have characters in mind for them but didn't want to make it completely obvious. I think that is good if anything.
>>
>>151930404

Which can become a problem for me because 'it could be either', it's not always the black and white, wrong or correct answer I am typically looking for. It's speculation and up for personal interpretation.
>>
>>151930362
Not that anon, but the show does waste time on stupid gimmicks near the end instead of giving clear explanations.
I know someone will tell me these things don't matter, but I would've liked to see why Mimi exploded, or how Cocona ended up in KKK hands rather than 2 more meaningless henshins or the weakest bad end tease in history.
>>
>>151930501
Do you have autism or something?
>>
>>151930525
Why Mimi exploded? That seems fairly obvious. Emotional reaction in time of dire need, desperation. That is the interpretation I have from the way events were portrayed.
>>
>>151930404
I like intentional vagueness when it's just fluff and trivia like "what does this painting mean?" or "which PIs corresponds to which characters?"

But when intentional vagueness is used to defer explaining an important plot point, it stinks. I reeks of "we needed this to happen but couldn't figure out a way of making it happen logically, so we just mooshed things together and hoped nobody would ask too many questions"

Why did jumping at Mimi fling Papika into a very particular PI where time and age fluctuates arbitrarily? Why did a tree sprout from the ground next to Papika when she entered this PI and grow into a penis-shaped cage? Why did Mimi abruptly end her rampage and explode into the macguffins that the characters spent 9 episodes collecting? Why didn't the goddamn fucking eagles just fly the goddamn fucking ring into Mount goddamn motherfucking Doom?

The phrase gets thrown around a lot, but this is a case where it applies in the literal sense: this was a deus ex machina. So many aspects of the plot were facilitate by, centered around and relied upon this super specific, singular event, yet nothing of it made sense. Our word-of-god master explanation is "It's PI magic, I ain't gotta explain shit." After hearing Papika spout "Mimi" for 4 goddamn consecutive cliffhangers, I'm not inclined to say that's good enough.

It isn't really deus ex machina though, most of the mechanics had already been established and hinted at through the show prior to it and it didn't really resolve any issues within the plot for anybody. You could say its a transparent plot device if you wanted but I would be inclined to disagree.

They don't. These kinds of details are things you kind of want obscured. Would you rather have a scene where everyone's sitting around reading a conveniently-placed document detailing how Mimi's love for her daughter allowed her to unlock her 8th chakra and blahblahblah-?
I'd rather a detail be omitted entirely than explained in a clunky way.

Also, how the fuck would anyone in the story even know "why" it happened? Maybe evil Mimi knew, but she didn't exactly have any reason to tell them.

Anon please. People don't explode after running off to hide in parallel dimensions with their babies every day.
This is the central driving moment of the story, Mimi becomes the shards that needed to be collected, and there's no good reason why.

>>151930860
>These kinds of details are things you kind of want obscured.
No, because without a strong internally consistent reason for it happening, its just a plot device. Of course its easy to come up with bad ways to do it, but doing it in a good way would improve the story.
>>
>>151930970
>Where did they hint at spontaneously bursting into sparkles?
Shard of Mimi literally what the collect the whole show. The girl in the boat was known to be Mimi from early on.

>Or your actual physical age being permanently altered by the influence of a PI?
Their actual age in the real world is altered every time they go into PI you can tell as time runs differently in PI and the real world all of the time through out the show. People had already speculated that Papika somehow accidentally got de-aged by Mimi bursting into shards before it was ever even shown thats how hinted at it was.

I'm not sure which part you are trying to say is the deus ex machina here but none of it is stuff that is suddenly thrust in at the last second to resolve the plot for the characters. The dream PI has been there the whole time, Mimi sharding was there since episode 7, PI affecting time had been demonstrated through out the show, we knew it was Mimi in Cocona's dream since very early on.

I love how all the adult characters take jabs at Papika for not growing up mentally, and Yayaka constantly uses "amai" as an insult while Papika happily uses it as a compliment.

>I love how all the adult characters take jabs at Papika for not growing up mentally
When did that happen? The only characters who could have done that were Mimi and Salt, and all I recall they ever told her was "you sure haven't changed".
>>
>>151931285
That's exactly what I mean. Both of them basically just had one thing to say to her and it was "you didn't grow up"
>>
>>151931247
>something happened
She split into shards because of the desperate situation she was put in by the KKK. What you are complaining about is not understanding the mechanism by which that happened the rest we know or is strongly implied.

>>151931281
I'm fine with not knowing the exact mechanism of how something worked in the show when likely nobody in the shows universe understands it either. What do you want some kind of voice over or narrator explaining it?
>>
>>151931325
I didn't take it as them telling her she hadn't grown up.
I mean, it wasn't her fault she got deaged and lost her previous life in the process, only to recover her previous memories on the same day both Salt and Mimi told her she hadn't changed.

I think their "you haven't changed" was just a greeting for a friend they hadn't seen in a long time and who, for obvious reasons, hadn't changed.
>>
>>151931353
>because of the desperate situation she was put in by the KKK.
Except she handled the "desperate situation" by whipping the KKK's shit with tentacles. She does this repeatedly after returning to the world without it causing explosive diarrhea. The bad guy was down for the count, she had her baby back, cradling it in her arms. And then she blew up.

From what cause, by what mechanism? For what reason should I accept that Mimi, in her moment of triumph, in her final acquisition of freedom from her captors and oppressors, in retrieval of her beloved child and salvation of her dear friend and lover; suddenly turned into magical rocks?

It's an effect without a cause.
>>
>>151931488
>Except she handled the "desperate situation" by whipping the KKK's shit with tentacles
Evidently not considering they took possession of Cocona and Mimi lost her free will. The cause is as already stated. She had already escaped and been captured once and it could have easily happened again.
>>
I would've loved more screen time for (explaining) Mimi exploding or Cocona's dream when she frees flux-aging Papika.
I'd trade that for that dumb scene of Mimi mindraping Papika at the end of ep12 any day.
>>
>>151931681
>they took possession of Cocona
Because she blew into rocks.
If her goal was to protect her baby, why did she blow into rocks?
>>
>>151931488
I thought Mimi did it to herself because she didn't want Cocona to grow up in PI under the control of her shadow-self, hence why she handed Cocona to Papika then destroyed her body, stopping her from following them back into the real world.
>>
>>151931488
I think a line or two from Mimi here would've made this better. Maybe a final plea to Papika that mirrors the one she made with Salt in Ep11. Driving home the point that it was in this moment of triumph that she had deep regrets.

Why does /a/ have this hateboner for dialogue? Apparently the greatest sin a story teller can commit is letting their character speak.
>>
>>151931353
>I'm fine with not knowing the exact mechanism of how something worked in the show when likely nobody in the shows universe understands it either.
I agree with the other guy.
We, as the audience, are a level above the characters, as we are the observers of their story, and thus we should get to know things that they don't (even things they probably will never get to learn).

I do not agree, though, that we should know the exact mechanism of everything, as PI is just some nonsensical magical place, but every development should have a proper buildup and if something odd is planned to happen (turning into crystals or deaging) the story should have shown us those developments as being possible occurrences in PI.

The fact that we knew there was a character called Mimi and they were collecting shards of Mimi wasn't enough to tip you off to the fact that turning into shards was a possibility?
>>
>>151931731
I don't know if growing up with robo granny sticking tubes in you is much better.

I understood it to be a symbolic/literal suicide, since that's a big thing in Jung, but I think its execution was muddy and obtuse and it wasn't an element of Mimi's character that was well explored outside of the painting foreshadowing.
>>
>>151931789
>tricked by their evil side with a bad deal.
It was a good deal until she blew into rocks.
>>
>>151931833
Actually, no.
We knew they were collecting the Mimi Shards since the beginning (though I don't recall them being called that way in the show), and Mimi wasn't actually brought up until ep7.
The connection between Mimi and the shards could have been several, such as them being shards that belonged to her, or that they were shards imbued with her power or her turning into shards.
However, this is a development that didn't get fully disclosed until eps10-11.

A proper foreshadowing could have been them showing some random character in any of the PI worlds turning into shards, and there being at least a hint of a reason of why such a thing might have happened.

Papika's deaging is an even worse development, as we only learned the reason behind it (she ended up in some unstable portion of PI) through the director explaining it in an interview, since the show didn't even give as a hint for that development.
>>
>>151932283
>Mimi wasn't actually brought up until ep7
Mimi's name is literally in the scripts for the whole show as the girl in the boat.
>>
>>151932283
>A proper foreshadowing could have been them showing some random character in any of the PI worlds turning into shards
We have never seen anyone be able to manipulate PI like Mimi though, its clear her power over it is on another level compared to all characters, having another character do it would just open up a whole bag of worms.
>Papika's deaging is an even worse development, as we only learned the reason behind it (she ended up in some unstable portion of PI) through the director explaining it in an interview, since the show didn't even give as a hint for that development.
People predicted an accident with the sharding caused Papika's de-aging as soon as we knew she was once older. The only thing the director explained was the mechanism by which it happened which was portrayed in the show but not explained explicitly. Basically like most of the things you are complaining about. The events are portrayed but we aren't given an explicit explanation for how those things happen.

Mimi's name is literally in the synopsis.
>>
>>151932496
"shards of Mimi" is in the synopsis. Its not clear who or what Mimi is until Ep 7. I don't think anyone in the show ever even calls them that.
>>
>>151932283
"Shards of Mimi" was in the show's synopsis in a magazine, but that's not part of the show.

What the "fragments" were fragments of, exactly, wasn't elucidated right until episode 10. There were some subtle suggestions, like the fact that Papika's sudden recollections of Mimi were always precipitated by a shard glowing, but nothing obvious enough make the assumption "these are literal, physical chunks of a person named Mimi who had the powers of all the defense traps and henshins and then blew up" in any way reasonable.

The nature of the shards was something the audience was kept completely in the dark about until 10 made it clear that they were pieces of Mimi. The grand total of our hints to their nature prior to episode 10 was the fact that "they grant wishes" was obviously presented in a disingenuous manner, and the fact that they glowed before Papika sperged about Mimi three times, the first being in episode 7.
>>
>>151932644
Are you genuinely saying you didn't know Mimi was the character in the boat all the way through?
>>

>>
>>151932856
The word "Mimi" wasn't even in my vocabulary until episode 7, guy.
I assumed it was Cocona's mom because of the OP and the attention they paid to Cocona's lack of parents, but wouldn't have even guessed at there being a relationship to the shards or her dream being a PI that she solo-enters in her sleep.

I'm sure those are thing that seem more obvious if you read spoiler-laden external material, but there's nothing contained within the show to give you the reasonable expectation of it until very late in the game.
>>
>>151932442
>We have never seen anyone be able to manipulate PI like Mimi though
Indeed, I wasn't talking about anyone manipulating PI, but an event in PI making it happen.
Say, for example, show some character go mad in anger and then it burst into crystals.
That way we would have an idea that strong negative emotions can trigger such an event - mind you, I'm not stating that as the actual reason for Mimi going crystals, but just giving an example of how the event could be introduced.
It shouldn't even have been some relevant side character. A random character going mad and turning into crystals would have sufficed.

>People predicted an accident with the sharding caused Papika's de-aging as soon as we knew she was once older.
Nope, people came up with a fuckton of ideas, even Papika being a clone.
Ultimately, Papika deaging was entirely accidental and unrelated to Mimi turning into crystals, as it just happened because Papika ended up in an unstable world.
So, no foreshadowing, no build-up, no nothing. Papika deaging was an event that just happened.

I don't think you're catching the ball that I'm pitching, guy.

Mimi's relationship to the shards and presence as an essential character were spoiled by a synopsis. Mimi's actual identity was spoiled by an error by CR in episode 1's sub script.

As someone who read neither the synopsis nor these threads before marathoning the show, I did not encounter any of this because it's not contained within the show itself. The only hints those linked posts, and presumably all the other, based their speculation of Mimi's identity on were relying entirely on sources of information external to the text itself. They weren't part of the show's storytelling, they were just promotional material unintentionally revealing spoilers for revelations 10 episodes down the line.

Sure, but you'll notice that the first post you quoted was baseless speculation - and the name Mimi comes from the synopsis, not the show itself.

The second one is amazingly close, but the guy is also using the name Mimi from the synopsis and clearly making up a story base on Cocona's dream and likely the ED sequence.

Basically, you have 2 guys shooting in the dark and happening to get close, and not people making conjectures based on actual developments that took place in the story.

Still was technically specula though.

Thats clearly not something other characters are able to do. Otherwise we would have a show collecting shards of Papika instead of shards of Mimi. It seems like you don't really grasp the special relationship Mimi has with PI.

>Nope, people came up with a fuckton of ideas, even Papika being a clone.
Yep. People came up with all sorts of ideas plenty of which were "there was an accident/shard explosion, then Papika somehow got deaged by the process and escaped PI with her memory wiped". It's not something nobody thought of or out of the blue at all but yeah there were plenty of other theories.

>Mimi sounds like a girls name
Yeah, but Mimi wasn't a name that was mentioned early in the story, and it only got brought up by the end of ep7.

The people who knew the name Mimi, and not just Mimi, but "Mimi Shards" knew it from borderline-spoiler external information.

>>151933495
>Thats clearly not something other characters are able to do.
Again, I'm not talking about a character having that ability, but that being a property of PI itself - as we saw many effects in PI, such as memory alteration, transformations, closeness-by-low-impedance, etc...
So, I'm not talking about a character turning into shards at will, but simply because that's how it goes in PI.
That way we would at least have known something like: "Oh, so X event can trigger Y character to turn into crystals."

>there was an accident/shard explosion, then Papika somehow got deaged by the process and escaped PI with her memory wiped"
You'll notice this doesn't even try to explain WHY/HOW she deaged, which is the issue in question. Even the people who came up with those ideas expected that why/how to be answered.

Also, amongst the few speculations on why/how Papika got deaged NONE got close to the actual reason - i.e. Papika ended up, by accident, in an unstable world, which deaged her - and we only learned the actual reason through an interview (i.e. external material).

>I'm not saying everyone got it, but people did, not impossible by any means.
Again, the examples you quoted were both baseless speculation that used external information. Both people were pretty much playing around and just happened to get close, as they clearly weren't going by actual information from the show itself - which is the point at hand.

Smells like lavender today....Cocona would like that part struck from the record.
>Secondly, we know from past, well documented experiments that Coconas and Cocona prototypes do not respond well to phallic contact. The Cocona Mk Mimi was so dissatisfied with Salt- I mean...the subject's inadequate penis, she almost blew up everything and tried to consume her daughter with the gaping, blood belching maw of eldritch horror that he had left behind.

We expect to make a breakthrough some time in the next year, though further trial runs may be needed to confirm our findings.

The moral was to trust your heart, be confident in what you do and not be afraid to make mistakes. This is what Good!Mimi tells Cocona and what Salt says when he shoots his double.

Cocona and Papika followed their hearts to do the best for Senpai. In the end, it was the right thing to do, she still paints and she got over her regrets.

Something something change isn't a bad thing and she was a plot device so that DPI mind fuckery didn't come literally out of nowhere. I think we took apart the last bits of Iro's story in the previous thread or the one before that.

Her bedroom has no door. Her grandmother is within earshot every second that she's home and watches her as she sleeps. She has a strict afterschool curfew enforced. Yayaka stalks her at school, not that there's anywhere to get some privacy there anyways.

You're looking at a 14 year old girl who has never, not even once in her life, masturbated. Her flaps remain unflipped, her tender bits untouched, her curiosity completely unexplored. Cocona doesn't even know what it feels like to have an orgasm but you can bet she has ideas. The poor girl is just thirsty, she thirsts from a long and laborious drought the scope of which we could hardly imagine. She's arrived here from a famine of feeling in her feminine parts, a deprivation of sensation where she wants it most. Give the girl a break, she can savour that stick all she wants. She's been patient.

Wanking shit for life, even till my penis dies
We know what to do, we keep making shitposts from our poo
When the board is dumb, full of stupid trendy cunts,
We do what we must: We keep wanking shit as hard as fuck

I hope you'll like it.
