Maybe you should have put a few points into perception/alertness scrub.

Even if I was a mage, I would be wearing at least medium armor, I wouldn't want to get one shotted by some scrub when my teamates are getting wrecked. A dead mage is probably the worse that can happen, next to a dead priest.

But anon, wearing metal interferes with your mana flow perception, do you have enough cash for that dragonscale suit?
I think there's supposed to be something under that plate, but who's complaining?

Sacrificing a bit of magic for defense is not a bad deal. A smart enemy will always, ALWAYS target the mage or priest if they want to have a chance at winning. Or you can be a newfag normie and send your mage to the battlefield unprotected from conventional attacks, then might as well built a coffin and dig a grave. Whats that a ranger with a poising crossbow is aiming at your mage, most likely your priest, there goes half your health.
Not being the best of both and playing a Wis build. Plate wearing, Spellcasting, Ass kicking.

And now you go confusing priests with mages. Priests should wear heaviest armor possible as long as their religion is not nudism. Mages are mobile artillery, if an enemy has them in his sights you've already lost anyway.

Not when the mage is wearing heavier armor and can tank a few hits. Some battle can never go as you plan and you will have to be quick to react on battles specially when you are outnumber by damage sponges. A living mage with half its power efficiency is better than a dead one.
I do agree about the priest, but I seen some DEX priest builds that never end well. If I had the power I would make everyone wear plated armor, even the sneaky rogue. Those bastards are always the first to die.
Fuck that, can we get some decent shield loving in here? They aren't appreciated enough.
