Body switching isn't anything new, especially in the west. And just reading the wikipedia page of this film and having seen Hot Chick, I can confirm, without a doubt, that outside of the body switch hook, there is nothing similar about them.

This movie has more in common with the Lakehouse with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, which is in itself a remake of the Korean film Il Mare.

It's got the same hook as Freaky Friday and about twelve dozen cartoon parodies. It's not the hook or the story elements. It's about the characters.

I did like Hot Chick, though. Not good, but I've a soft spot for Rob Schneider.

The film is about trying to find something you know you want, but you dont know exactly what it is. I imagine a lot of people who watch anime/browse /a/ are the sort of closed off, socially anxious type (myself included) who dont feel fulfilled with their life.
