As far as the game goes, its a virtual world to boot. While the NPCs they create can be as powerful as any player, they are still dumb NPCs so a dedicated party could still wipe them out and did once. The invaders can also deploy their own NPCs to fight the dungeons NPCs.

In later volumes I realized that team ainz is effectively invincible, but at the start it seemed to take itself super seriously with constant red herring "threats" to the fortress and over preparing to everything which just went to waste. humiefag memes aside, there is still alot that can threaten nazarick. lost knowledge and items from previous players, potential new players being ported in every hundred years or so, and especially the potential for internal conflicts with albedo and her sisters. She also has the hit squad to kill any players that ainz doesnt know about. If she kills a player and ainz finds out; I dont think a simple 3 day time out will be enough punishment. Her emotions are pretty unstable. If ainz somehow loses his trust in her , it very well could turn out with albedo as the antagonist.

the readers get the feeling that everything will fall crashing down ever since volume 1 since the MC is branded the final boss right from the get go. the eventual collapse will be glorious, the anticipation for it building with each step. still, you can get the feeling that the MC, with his headache-inducing absurdly effective survival skills will pull through.

the irony here is that the MC doesn't act like an evil final boss - who seeks the destruction of all things - would, but acts like a tyrant does (mind you, there are many beloved tyrants out there) to those outside his home, and acts like a parent does to his distant "family".

there's that world building as well. the setting just begs for it to be explored.

I like the MC and how he interacts with his world and the world trying to deal with him.

At the same time the world itself is rather interesting to learn more about. I think part of the charme is that you actually discover this new world bit by bit. The unknown and the paranoia about it and realizing that the human nations are the weakest but being a small part of the actual world means there could be threats later on.

The comedy ranges from silly to serious and sad misunderstandings with rather dark consequences.
The child like curiosity of the guardians and other created NPC about their creator but at the same time the terrifying bias against anything not from Nazerick. Makes them rather hard to "hate". Its rather dark how they can talk normaly about rather heavy stuff...like demiurge sheep farm and everybody is absolutly fine with it or the "moral" wrong experiments that happenign there.

It shows truthfully what a rather subjective word "evil" is and depends on the person.

And i am curiuos if Ainz is able to create his utopia in the long run.

Alright I just finished the last thread that devolved into how quickly can Albedo murder fuck the Vol.9 armies, and everybody saying 24 hour or more.
Do you people realize just WHAT Albedo is when on murderfuck frenzy? LITERAL(greek/roman/ect) gods were around level 90 and above in Yggdrasil, and she's 100.
Not only is she just a level 100 >world class beauty , but she's also a fucking succubus.

I give it an hour of as another anon said Berserk Eclipse murder+fuck frenzy before both Empire and Kingdom armies are drowned in blood and sexual fluids.
Level 1s would literally be falling over dead if Albedo went ahead and let herself loose, if not just plain out have their crotches explode from over-excitement.
And while +50% of Kingdom's army just literally falls over dead with death boners, the rest will be fighting alongside Empire's knights to death so they can get a better spot at the line leading to Albedo.

They all have a human cosmetic appearance, created for them by the Supreme Beings, but they are not human.

I got really tired of how much every character praised Ainz, especially Albedo, who was probably the most annoying character in the show.

Also dedicating all of that development time to those adventurers instead of Ainz's other servants just to have them all die felt like a waste of an episode. Not to mention there was almost no tension until the very end.

Show needed more of Shalltear, too.

It's pretty atypical in the type of story its telling compared to what you may be used to. Whereas something like, say, one punch man has a comically overpowered main character and its played as a joke, Overlord has a comically overpowered main character and its played completely, meticulously straight. So you do get alot of chapters where it will talk about a character, their hopes, dreams, aspirations, but then they set off on a path to do something that you know will directly piss Ainz off, and there's almost a sense of horror like 'please either let something else kill them before they get there or have them realize they have something else to do'. I also find it funny how all Teocracy council members get themselves a names, while a dwarven council didn't and instead we get Ainz internal crying about remembering their titles and names.

Well, one thing is because the Theocracy's elders recognized themselves internally; so they needed names. Another thing is that Ainz himself couldn't really tell them apart and the lack of names is probably to impart a sense of that onto the readers.

Plus, the Theocracy faps to titles a lot, like Cedran of the BS being called "The Wall" and Beaumarchais being called "Divine Chains".
