Translating visual novels is fuckton of work, and compared to working on anime or manga, audience doesn't get anything until all of the work has been completed. You also need way more specialized technical knowledge for anything that has gameplay elements, it's very uncommon to be one-man eroge translation team, unless you are working on very well documented engine.
We could have gotten translations for 5D and VI before, but Alicesoft went official, and I guess the translators figured releasing the games as fan-patches would be a bad form. Hopefully the releases will speed up now.

Utawarerumono is great, if a bit dated. I wouldn't really consider it eroge since it's sex scenes were forced into it IIRC, but it's a solid game nonetheless.

Kamidori Alchemy Master (Meister?) is also really good, I couldn't get myself past the first route but I won't deny its a good game with a really in-depth crafting system.

Any translated Alicesoft game should be good, they're my personal #1 eroge guys. Daibanchou/Big Bang Age is translated along with a handful of others. Otherwise work your way backwards with Rance after Sengoku like many of us did. There's 02, 3/4(though both are really dated), and Kichikuou which is incredible.
