Itachi has no stamina at all at that point, Madara doesnt need to fight close range as long as he uses limbo so yata sword cant seal him. debatable if the sword can seal limbo clones as we have no clue what the rules are on the sword and even less on the shield. Itachi has izanami, but madara was not hiding from his true self he really believe Infinite Tsukyomi to be the only path to peace so he would have no epiphany the way kabuto did. The Kotoamatsukami has a 10 year cool down so thats out of the question.

Madara has Infinity Tsukyomi as an auto-win button. Madara can shit out Chibaku Tensei to force itachi to go into susano which burns out his endurance. Even if the sword is win button, it still has to hit madara. Not to mention madara can shit out clones with each their own susano. Itachi's best chance at winning is not the susano but his genjutsu and that is IF and only IF it even be casted on a rinnegan user in the first place
